I purchased my new Equinox in the Fall of 2022. For the last six or seven months, I have had a tire that was slowly leaking air. I mentioned this every time I took my car in for service, and the service dept claimed that they could not find any leak. I was told that this was normal for tires to leak due to rising and falling temps. The service dept acted like I was making this up. Last week when the tire pressure dropped significantly, I drove the car from Terre Du Lac to the dealership and showed the service dept rep the significant leak. He immediately scheduled me for service. After pumping the pressure up to over 40psi, they found the leak - a small nail. They repaired the leak and then charged me $20+ to fix it. This was a little irritating that they charged me, since I had been telling them about the leak for several months, and had been forced to pump air into the tire about every two weeks or so. It is obvious that they did not try very hard to find the leak during the several other times I asked them to check. A $20+ bill was not significant for me to challenge it, but in my opinion, the service department missed a golden opportunity to win a customer’s loyalty. The service dept should have repaired this tire for free, after all the trouble it had put me through. A very small amount to purchase a great customer experience. Opportunity missed.
