Absolutely terrible communication skills and customer service. Scott at Rust Bucket had my daughter’s car for OVER A MONTH and just let it sit. If you don’t have time to do the work, don’t accept the business. I would have gladly taken it elsewhere had I been told he wasn’t interested in my business or was overloaded with work or whatever reason he could have thought of.
Here we go on… Saturday 1/18/25 I had my daughter’s car towed down to Rust Bucket. When Scott didn’t respond to my text msg, I called him and we had a conversation on the phone. He told me to send the car down and he’d let me know what was going on with it in the next week. I was totally fine with that.
Friday 1/24/25 I reached out via text asking for an update – No response.
I texted him daily on 1/25/25, 1/26/25, 1/27/25 – Still NO RESPONSE.
So, I got worried. Was he injured? Was he arrested? So I called, he answered, we had a one minute conversation. He said he was sorry he hadn’t gotten to it yet but he would this week. I accepted that.
1/30/25, 2/4/25, 2/5/25 I texted him asking for an update – No response.
I think you’re getting the picture here.
This went on for far too long.
I’m including screenshots in this review so you will see the lack of communication.
He very rarely picked up the phone when I called. The only time he answered my text message was in response to me asking him if I could bring him the car.
I finally got the car back on 2/22/25 without diagnostics or repairs.
It’s at a different shop being taken care of today.
I’m an understanding person but this was so frustrating, and I feel like people should be aware that this could potentially be the result if you bring your car here. I’m hoping that posting this will motivate improvement and accountability.
If you don’t have time for or don’t want to do the work, just be up front about it and say that in the beginning.
