“Active Strength is amazing! My daughter trains there for track and field, and I attend for strength training. It’s a welcoming, judgment-free environment that truly feels like family. The trainers are knowledgeable, personable, and fun, while also knowing how to challenge you and help you reach the next level.
I’m stronger now than I’ve been in years, and my daughter absolutely loves it too. We’ve both had an incredible experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for supportive coaching and real results.”
“Absolutely love this gym. After a horrible experience with a gym down the street I didnt think I would find another one that fit my needs. Everyone is so welcoming. Definitely will recommend them to everyone I know.”

“Tina was fantastic . Made the process super easy and fun. It was a fast and easy process took less than 10 mins. Would recommend people to go Tina was very welcoming and had a good relationship with everyone in the gym!”
“I like this gym, especially Barri’s classes! She gives great muscle cuing and corrections. If you can’t make your class call and see if they can switch you to a later class—there is no charge.”

“Blush Boot Camp in Lees Summit is amazing! I love being able to walk through those doors and have a fun environment where the workout is planned for the day with awesome trainers. I can modify if needed and be comfortable making that decision. Did I mention the results! Thanks Blush team for all you do!”
“Better You Fitness is more than a gym that cares both for your fitness & nutritional needs. The meal plans make it so easy. Sarah & Grant keep up the good work!”
“I’ve been training here for about two years, which is longer than most of my relationships and at least three Marvel timelines.
The owner is a veteran who somehow looks like Captain America got exposed to gamma radiation and decided to open a gym. Imagine a miniature Hulk with better manners and a stronger work ethic. That’s this guy.
What I appreciate most is that this isn’t one of those gyms where the owner disappears into an office and only emerges to sell protein powder. He’s present. He knows his members. He cares about the place. The equipment is maintained, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the culture is built around helping people improve themselves rather than showing off for social media.
As a veteran myself, I’ve seen plenty of leaders. The owner leads this gym the same way good leaders run a unit: by setting the example. The man works hard, treats people with respect, and expects the same from everyone else.
Unless you’re allergic to results, accountability, or seeing a Captain America/Hulk hybrid casually moving more weight than your car, you’ll probably like this place.
Two years later and I’m still glad I walked through the door.
Highly recommended.”

“I just started working out here in November and love it! I’m feeling stronger and more flexible, and I’ve learned so much from Molly. Thanks for accommodating my crazy travel schedule and always finding a time to train me. I love this place!”
“Why is this specific PF set up like a tiny home? No redbed equipment always broke but the staff is always hard at work and kind and helpful. Sprucing the place up would be nice.”

“Best CrossFit gym in eastern Jackson county! I’ve been a member for almost 2 years. Due to great coaching and programming, they helped me fix so many of my bad habits learned from other places as well as helped me achieve multiple goals I’ve been working on for years. They care so much about their members and it shows. Follow all the protocols for Covid to help keep everyone safe. Cannot say enough great things about this gym!”

“I've been here several time for their outdoor concerts and it is always a fun time. They do a nice job. Plenty of parking. The community building itself is modern and updated. Nice swimming pool for kids and adults. Great gym for pickleball and other sports. They also have bicycling class which is awesome. Staff is very friendly. Great value for a family membership.”

“(Edit: looking back on this now, I realize that I was the one who didn't fully read the contract before signing; that I didn't check my statements for a couple months; and that 30 day cancellations are not abnormal. I think that John, who signed me up originally, and Rob the trainer were very helpful and it was initially a very good experience.)
(Original 2 stars review):
I had a frustrating experience with Genesis Health Clubs. When I signed up, I was told I could do a one-month membership, but I was charged for three additional months after that. Later on, I got charged again unexpectedly, even after I canceled. The cancellation policy and billing process are not very transparent, and it ended up costing me significantly more than I expected.
That being said, John Gomez, the manager, is great. He was helpful and easy to talk to, and I appreciated his professionalism. Unfortunately, the way Genesis handles payments and customer service makes it hard to trust them. If you’re considering joining, I’d recommend getting everything in writing and well understood to avoid surprises.”
“I found myself on a 2 week trip and in need of a gym with a shower. After purchasing a plan that was way more than what I needed. I met with Leslie and she helped me get exactly what I needed for a great price. Couldn’t have been happier with the service and attention to detail from this Anytime fitness!”
