Have been using Phillips as our primary pharmacy for some years now and always have a wonderful experience which has only been made better with the recent drive thru window addition!

They didn't have enough medication to fill my prescription but as I was out had no choice to get a partial....went to refill date authorized and they said couldn't fill for four days. I was puzzled as I only received partial prescription yet my insurance was billed for entire amount (they were paid for full script but only dispensed partial, and refused to fill rest). Just watch closely. Will probably get backlash for this post but if it saves anyone the pain I'm suffering cause will not have my medication then a small price to pay.

After months of getting the run around from Walgreens every time I needed a new prescription and dealing with flippant employees I finally found Phillips this month. They were courteous and quick and, unlike the chains, Phillips pharmacy employees don't seem annoyed if you call to ask a question (also calls went right through, no 30 minute hold like Walgreens).I know where my family and I will be taking all of our pharmacy needs from now on.

Great family owned pharmacy! Best caring staff! Always the lowest prices, better than CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, HyVee. Nicely located, inside the RedX store.

The regular staff at this pharmacy have given me an experience i never thought jd have again at a pharmacy due to my current road to addiction recovery and thus having certain prescriptions that Walgreens and CVS pharmacists see and immediately change their treatment and willingness to help you in the blink of an eye. This pharmacy, with their regular staff, have NEVER talked down to me or made me feel anything less than a customer who deserves good service. Carrie is my favorite just because she’s usually the one to check me out and when she greeted me by name as I was swathed in my depression pajamas and purple beanie, I suddenly felt like I was a person. Again. Soon after, something happened where my meds wouldn’t be in until the next day but i didn’t have any left and I didn’t even have to say more than a shaky “ohh… umm” before she said “hang on let me check something” and caught the driver before he left the warehouse and I was able to pick up that day. Josie is EXTREMELY understanding and seems to care about her patients comfort and happiness overall so long as the proper Authorizations are sent in when I had to do early fills when I travelled for work and she would dispense for me to pay out of pocket since theres only so much insurance will do… Her complete lack of trepidation she had to do what I was needing within her ability instead of making the reckless and dangerous decision to “refuse” to fill despite doctor approval because they decided that it was what was best, pharmacists are still doing this when fentanyl is pervasive in the streets and I can only imagine how many people may have lost their lives just trying to not be sick because some pharmacist decided to wield their power on people they clearly think are below them. Josie treats me like I’m her favorite customer. She always emails me back quickly and makes Magic’s happen even if there may have been a passing awkwardness involving a pharmacist who Iim assuming was with the UMKC crew. … regardless of what that person did, I’m glad Josie was there to lead by example and hopefully teaxh the importance of compassion …. I think most who learn under this staff will surely go on to be helpful pharmacists that give another poor depressed woman her sense of dignity back someday at some pharmacy soon. Whenever I’ve had to take an issue to her, the swiftness with which the problem was fixed made me balk at the runaround a staff that was passing through had been giving me. .., if my parents weren’t so stubborn I’d get them over to Phillip’s. But sometimes when I’m bored and spiteful I scroll local Twitter coMplaints about Walgreens pharm and CVS and swoop in recommending Phillip’s. Some folks just would rather deal with disrespect and cruelty than get out of their cars to go inside…. Josie if you get the store to agree, I know a guy who will build a drive up window! Just kidding. I’m never going to stop singing the praises of this pharmacy. they’ve never let me down when the end of the day came.

Best in Kansas City - Northland to get specialties, compounds, and pharmacists that actually follow-up with their clients.

When you’re ill and in need of medication, you look for a pharmacist who can get your prescription filled quickly and correctly and get you on your way. That’s exactly what Phillips Family Pharmacy did for us and I cannot recommend them more highly. Simply outstanding.

I knew nothing about compound medicines when I was given my prescription. When I called Phillips Pharmacy they explained everything to me. They explained how I should handle my insurance also. I had a change in my B-12 to active form and they were not a pharmacy that carried that. They suggested another pharmacy and the prescription was expensive. I told them my concerns of the cost and not wanting more shots and they gave me an alternative. I tried Phillips Pharmacy B-12 supplements. I have tried tons of over the counter B-12 - nothing can touch their brand. Great family pharmacy that still takes time to explain things to you.

Would be nice if they would speak with you if there's conflicting scripts, rather than speaking to everyone but you.

I have always felt that it is important to shop local and support independent restaurants. It is even more important to support independent pharmacies. Over the last 3 decades massive chains such as Walgreens, CVS and Walmart have been on a rampage of forcing mom and pop business to close or buying them up and shutting their doors. This past month, I pulled the trigger and moved all my Rx's to Phillips Family Pharmacy inside of Red X in Riverside. There is probably 6 other chain pharmacies closer to my house but I knew I had to put my money where my mouth was and do the right thing. Three of my Rx's surprisingly were lower in cost than the Hy-Vee I was using; and the 4th jumped from $30 to $50. After letting the Pharmacist know of the large increase she went on line, found a coupon and applied it, decreasing the cost to $10!! So for what I was paying $50 a month, I'm now paying about $22. Something that the well meaning but overworked pharmacists at the chains would never have the time or desire to assist with. Don't even get me started with the mail order pharmacies... Great service, Great pricing and helping to keep the American Dream alive one independent business at a time.
