“They do an amazing Christmas display every year too. This year was awesome as always. When you drive into the parking lot, you get to see some cool lighted display characters. As you approach the parking lot where you watch the show, they have a live nativity scene with live animals and the whole setup.”

“I love this church. The minister is the best I ever heard. The congregation like family. This church preaches the word. The word of God. Every Sunday we have a pot luck meal. The meal is awesome. The fellowship amazing. Come see us,we grow every week. Lots and lots of children, babies and they are so well behaved. We had baby to 12yrs old dedications yesterday. Also do Baptisms. Very much family oriented.”

“Today was the first time my husband and I attended and we couldn’t have had a better experience. Everyone was so nice and welcoming from the time we walked in the doors. The kids section is safe and the kids had a blast and are already asking when they can come back. We haven’t been to church together ever and we wanted to find a good small church that felt centered around God and not the outside world and I believe God sent us to The Crossing for a reason. We will definitely be regular attendees from now on.”

“Genuine and authentic. A church that’s led by the Holy Spirit. Worship isn’t a rock concert, just an invitation to stand in his presence and to come as you are. Pastor is very scripture based and doesn’t deviate into a storytelling personal interpretation. Their iPhone app actually gives you free access to the audio version of the Bible. Community outreach is strong and missionary work impactful. Can’t recall hearing anything regarding asking to tithing and feeling pressured, but give you the opportunity to do so. Might be lacking on things like men’s groups and weekly connections, but still 6/5 stars.”

“Here only for the fish fry. They’re ranked number 1 for a reason: they have the order process, lines and so forth all down to a science. You can pay with cash or credit. 2023 season they had quite a few choices for your main meat choice (3 kinds of fish, shrimp, etc). The sides are all great. I recommend the Mac n cheese. Dessert is included and the selections vary but tend to include some awesome selections.”

In love to keep in contact with you. I have never met so many good people who share Christianity. As a church, I would recommend going here for you and your kids.”

“Still an operating church, school closed but used for many community opportunities. Went for a local volleyball tournament, and it was nice. Inviting in that a couple if doira from the gym, there was a senior potluck dinner going on, smelled delicious, I would have paid to eat with them! What a cool community opportunity, and good use of space already in the community.”

“We originally enrolled our son in preschool 3s (last year) and pre-k (this year) knowing we would be sending him to public school for kindergarten. Our experience at Salem has had us debating whether we should keep our son enrolled. The teachers and staff are so welcoming and I really feel like have taken the time to get to know him.”

“The staff are all awesome, and the parishioners welcome you when you attend, whether it be for service or one of the many activities that they have going. I loved attending the Tuesday Morning Life Group and the Young at Heart Group, but unfortunately, Covid stopped it from meeting. There are other groups that meet. I watch their service online currently because I am a full-time caregiver and can't get to church right now. I am also a prayer warrior, and you can ask for prayers, and they would be more than happy to say them for you. I would recommend this church!!”

“I'm highly amused that St Gerard Majella's fish fry, which only happens once a year for like 5 weeks during Lent, has a Yelp site. But I'm also thankful that someone created one. I'm not a St. Louis native and don't understand all the hype surrounding fish fries. Well, now I know. I came here last Friday at 5:10pm (they opened their doors at 4:30), the first week of their fish fry, with the naïve thought that I was "early". I fully intended to use their order-online-and-pick-up-curbside but 30 minutes after they opened, their website shut down/broke and it said they weren't taking any more orders. I told my husband I would be home in 20 minutes. 1 HOUR LATER, I finally left with my carryout food and wondered if the food would be worth this crazy long drive-through wait. The church staff told me that the line would likely be shorter after 6:30pm...but when I left, the line of cars waiting on Dougherty Ferry Road was the same length as it was at 5:10pm. When you arrive in your car, you enter the drive through line from Dougherty Ferry Road, and exit on Ballas. Apparently people started lining up at 4:00pm. I asked if parking and walking in to do carry-out was faster, but the lines were apparently also long inside. They take cash and credit card. As you inch along the drive through, they also sell Ted Drewes ($3 each, about 1 cup size), drinks/beer, give you free tartar sauce or cocktail sauce, then give you a number to place on your dashboard so they can direct you into 2 lanes, then merge you into 1 lane, and then you order your food, pay, and pick up the food. I tried the fried cod adult dinner, which comes with 2 pieces of fried cod, hush puppies (or a roll), 2 sides, and a packaged cookie or brownie. The cole slaw was my favorite side--fresh, vinegar-y, and a nice contrast to the fried seafood. I also tried the fried shrimp, French fries, and mac and cheese. The fried cod was my favorite--nicely breaded, not overly greasy, well-seasoned, and nice and hot even after I took it home to eat. Hush puppies left something to be desired---the cornbread inside was dry and the exterior breading too hard/crunchy. But still, tasty. So my first fish fry experience was delicious, but I don't think I will be waiting an hour again in the drive thru line again just to get the fried fish.”

“I like this church, I like gospel music that makes me feel better and encouraged to try my best. I write positive encouraging songs, mostly based off of the best parts of the Gospel in my lifelong research of it. The Sky's Open Above, in peace there is Love... Peace is still quiet, joy is happy gladly, let patience be to your self control this is the roll... The Spirit that gifted me with that song, goes on for awhile expanding multidimensionally on the fruits of the spirit... For edification... The music is linked to the name Miles McWalker... I set out to make a song for G.. He maybe said, make one for My people to know Me better and treat each other better.”

“This church will change your life! The people are wonderful and pastor Mark is amazing person. Even after moving away from the area I still feel a connection with him and the church. He was a tremendous influence on myself and my children. We still communicate to this day. I would highly recommend coming by and checking it out if you’re looking for a new church home or just wanting to find a way to reconnect with Christ. Great people and a wonderful atmosphere!”

“Was visiting from Toronto and I had a lovely time in the 10:45 Sunday service. Worship was awesome, I felt the presence of God so strong. The media team was also very smooth with all the visuals. And the ministration was so simple yet so powerful. I definitely enjoyed my experience, and the community feels so welcoming, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in St. Louis!”
