So today while trying to use my Apple Cash things got a bit crazy. I am not doing a review about that, but rather about Ellie (Sp?). I run a family business, and if it were not so far away, I’d pay this girl a solid wage to transfer. She is mature, patient, polite, and persistent (In a good way), and a fine example of what a young worker should emulate. I do not impress very fast being a retired Marine, and a retired police detective too. My expectations are high. I strongly think I’ll be back if for nothing else to say hello to such a great employee, and young lady. Thank her parents fir raising a fine lady too. Well done hiring Ellie, give her a raise!

I shop at Pack’s regularly and appreciate having a small town hardware store to support. I am however getting really tired of none of the prices on the shelf being correct. Every single time I get to counter the total is substantially more than I expected going off the shelf prices.

I’ve lived in smithville for over 20 years and always shop at Packs. Service has always been good but now seems exceptional because of Sheryl’s management. Friendly, kind with a home town spin. Wouldn’t shop elsewhere!

No common courtesy or decency... Never been before, but my husband and I took a chance and stopped in on Saturday Dec 10th. We purchased about 10 items. When we got to the car we both said we didn't think the total amount sounded right. We looked at the receipt and the cashier didn't charge us for one item (a $24.99 item). Doing the right thing, we went back in the store with the item that we had not been charged for, and said we believe you didn't charge us for this. With no "thank you" much less any comment other than "Oh" from the cashier, she rung it up and told us the amount. The amount was about $8 more than what the shelf said. We asked about the difference, she went to look, came back, and said "Oh that was a different tag for a different item that is in the wrong spot." So, not only did we take the time to go back in and pay for an item that we were never charged for, fixing THEIR mistake, we were then charged $8 more than what the tag on the shelf said... still with no thank you, no I'm sorry, no nothing. Absolutely unbelievable! Even though the cashier had absolutely no common courtesy nor human decency, we still feel good about doing the right thing, but with the way the situation was handled, we will never be back. So unfortunate. We love to support small, hometown businesses. But those businesses need to appreciate the customers that don't pass by them to go to the big box stores. And if not that, how about at least appreciating the customers who are honest and come back in to pay for your mistake?

Look at the price on the shelf before you go to checkout! Three weeks ago I went to buy bug spray for my plants. The price on the shelf was $15.99. At the checkout it rang up at $22.99. That's a ripoff! Seven dollars difference! I had to have one of them to walk over with me to prove it. Then two days ago I needed salt pellets and the price on the shelf was $7.99 but at checkout it was $8.49! This place is the worst! 50 cents or $7 dollars it's not right!

This small town gem isn't the cheapest but it is the best stocked, easiest to navigate, friendliest, most community minded store that has served me well for the 27 years I've lived in Smithville. They know their inventory and are happy to help. They load those heavy mulch bags for you and know exactly the aisle and type of bulb flr your microwave. In the spring, their plants are wonderful, reasonably priced and well cared for. A great selection of heirloom tomatoes and every variety of perennial or annual you could want for your flower garden. I love, love love this store

Very poor customer service..rented a Dingo it got stuck they sent 2 kids that did not know what they were doing. They didn't have anyone to pick it up until the next day so they charged us another day. We used it for 2 hours before it happened. They refused to give a refund. DO NOT RENT FROM PACKS IN SMOTHVILLE
