Ella was beyond polite, she was extremely helpful & I love the fact that Alamo supplies Clorox wipes for us germaphobe’s in every vehicle. I’m thinking I won’t be using Avis anymore!!

Worst experience ever. Reserved and paid for a premium suv rental in June for a pickup date of Oct 4-18. Knew I was going to be late and called the customer service number to let them know I would be there between 6p-630p instead the original time of 1p. Customer service said they noted it in my reservation. Arrived at 630 for pickup and the agent said you're 5 hours late. We tried to call you and there was no number listed on your reservation. I informed him that I called customer service and notified them. He insisted that it was not showing up on the reservation. Regardless, they didn't even have the vehicle available I reserved and paid for months ahead of time. He offered me a downgrade of a minivan, but I refused and left. I called customer and they said they would have a manager reach out to me and said all prepaid reservations are held for 24 hours. When informing the agent of this He said he had worked for the company for 14 years and never heard of rhis before. Never heard from a manager and the next day requested a refund..DON'T RENT FROM ALAMO, NATIONAL OR ENTERPRISE. They are all held by the same holding Co.And this exact same thing happened to us 2 years ago with Enterprise, that's why we didn't rent from them this time.

I have not booked a car yet. But I read many of the reviews both positive and negative. I am most impressed by the response received on every review by the (owner) / representative of Alamo. During our road trip our rental car had some problems so we had to exchange our car. But this location unlike other rental car locations the employees were really friendly (Angel and Grey, sorry if I misspelled your names) and the Car exchange was really quick and easy. If you ever need a rental car, I would recommend you to get it here. Good location with lots of rental cars.

Springfield Alamo great people to deal with. Had to come back and turn in my rental vehicle cuz I had mobility issues getting in and out of it. Not a problem switch me right out ended up with a brand new 2018 Chevy Malibu with only $145 Mi on it. No additional charges and no hassle. Two things in life I really enjoy

I give this one star for the lady staff, she is really nice and would like to help when I pick up the car. I rent a suv from 21-24, but I got cold and I was in St.Louis that day, I called the front desk to do a one-day extension. But he told me I need to pay $1,150 just for one day!!! That’s impossible. I checked several times is that $150, but it’s over one thousand usd just for rent a rav4/day. I have to drive a long way back to SPF at midnight even I was sick and really tired.

This is my second time renting with Alamo. I wanted to leave another positive review because my experience with them has never been negative. My girlfriend that I was visiting in Springfield didn't have her car out the shop till Thursday. I wanted to pay with a debt card and I had my return flight with me to show them so I can pay. The lady at the front desk said she might not be able to do it because my return flight was on the 3rd of January. And I wanted to return it the 30th on Thursday, she told me she would ask her manager. The manager was in her office and seemed busy on a call but still helped me out and let me pay with a debt card. I love the staff there they are always friendly and caring about the customers. Every time I come here to visit I will not be picking another rental company. I will always use Alamo because of the tremendous customer service they have. Can't wait to rent with you guys again for my next trip!

Car was ready on time and the counter folks at both ends were very nice and efficient. However, the car we rented had some weird shifting gears - we had no idea how to use them and struggled with that. This should have been explained when we picked up the vehicle.

Fabulous first time experience with this Location. I had a 2021 Nissan Rogue which was fuel efficient and comfy as well. Over all check in and check out was super Fast. My car seemed well cleaned and sanitized. I will definitely rent again.

1st, I'm giving this place 3 stars because of (Katie) who was working Sunday night August 29th. I explained the situation below and she sincerely apologized for my experience exceeded my expectations of "making things right". I'm grateful to her and hope Alamo can use this as a coaching moment to management regarding the employee mentioned below. He was never rude and very friendly, but he was not prepared to handle the night shift by himself. He told me he had only been there a month.THE SITUATION: I traveled to Springfield Airport on Thursday night for a funeral and needed to make a 4 hour drive from the airport to be with family. My flight came in around 10:40pm Thursday 7/26. When I landed, I was already emotionally and physically drained. After grabbing my luggage, I stepped in the rental car line to get my car reservation. I waited in line for almost two hours. There were 42 people in the line ahead of me. Yeah, I know. Once it was my turn, there were no cars left (at least that is what I was told). The employee at the counter (after 20 minutes or so) finally handed me several keys and told me to go outside (after midnight) and look at the cars and pick one. I asked him where they were located and he said he didn't know. I asked him to come with me because it was dark and the parking lot is big, but he said he had some "stuff " to do before closing. I went out by myself and found the first car by repeatedly pressing the lock button in the air while roaming about an unfamiliar parking lot in an unfamiliar city after being awake 21 hours. (Unsafe!) The car was dirty inside and out. It had crumbs and(food) grease in the seats and leftover trash in the passenger and back floor, but I just wanted to leave the airport at that point. I was tired and told the Alamo employee that I would take the car because I was tired and just wanted to get to a nearby hotel and sleep. I told him about the condition of the car and he said he knew it was not cleaned and that it had not been checked in...hmm. Maybe that's why it took another 20 minutes to check me out. He then charged me a $300 deposit even though I was returning the car to the same place. I could keep going with details but I won't. After being handed disinfectant wipes (that I requested), I left the Alamo counter shortly before 1:30 am. And yes, I had to fork out more money for hotel to sleep for the night. Yes, I know. I didn't have the time or energy to deal with it over the weekend, so when I returned the car, I spoke with Katie. See beginning of the review.
