Half the self checkouts are usually not opened and they may only have 1 full checkout open. Employees stand around most of rhe rime talking and will NOT wait on you! Typical Walmart...

I previously worked at the Walmart on West Republic Road in Springfield in 2021. Unfortunately, I had to resign due to family issues, particularly because my mother was battling cancer. Additionally, I wished the store was closer to our home in the city of Republic. At the time, I didn’t intend to quit entirely. I wanted to discuss with the manager, Sandra Youngblood, the possibility of either switching positions within that Walmart or being redirected to work as a Cart Attendant at the Republic Walmart. However, I felt intimidated and didn’t feel I had the opportunity to explain my situation.
During my time there, I noticed there were chronic issues with the availability of carts. Even during my lunch breaks, I had to show proof that I had gathered enough carts, otherwise, I wouldn't get a break. Often, despite my efforts to collect all available carts from the parking lot, most were already in use by customers. Additionally, I observed that some employees would take entire rows of carts to the back for stocking shelves. I heard other employees in the break room discussing the cart shortage, and there was talk about a new shipment of carts, but unfortunately, it never materialized.
In April 2023, I called to reapply, but Sandra Youngblood refused to rehire me, citing that once someone quits, they are placed on a "No-Rehire List." She conveyed this in a rude and dismissive manner, not allowing me to explain my past circumstances. This felt discriminatory, especially since Walmart’s policy indicates that I should still be eligible for rehire, as it has been well over 60 days since my resignation.
This experience has left me without a job, and I believe my situation was not handled in accordance with company policy. I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration to ensure fair treatment for all past and future employees.

Cart full of groceries and not a single lane open with an actual teller. Meanwhile, seven employees standing around in front of the self check lane, and every one of them ignoring customers. This used to be an average store, now it deserves less than one star. If Walmart wants to improve profits they could replace several folks in this store with someone who will actually earn a paycheck. This used to be my regular grocery store, but I won't be back after seeing how inept some of the front end employees are. Very similar last weekend.
It doesn't save anything having self checkouts if you pay people to stand around and ignore your customers.

Never shopping at this location ever again wife checked out was watched by several employees payed for everything then was accused by the manager of stealing had all our belongings snatched from us and searched without permission and all of this in front of our 5 year old child and after they find we had in fact stolen NOTHING wasn't offered an apology for the embarrassment caused if they are that worried about people stealing go back to paying people to scan your items don't offer a do it yourself if your gonna question every customer you think might have stolen something and with as many employees that was watching her specifically pay for our items the accusation of stealing should not have even been made and that leads me to believe that the manager decided my wife apparently looks like the thief type and even though could visually see nothing had been stolen must not have been able to accept that and had to check there self what this store did has got to be against corporates policies in one way or another guess we will see

Not convenient. Doesn’t accept Apple Pay and can’t accept card numbers. Lady talk to me like I was stupid and I had to come up with a work around with the app. She was not educated on alternatives. Stop by on 3-14 at 430p during the rain for reference
