Bought a sewing machine two weeks ago and received a 50% off offer with the purchase. My mother gave me a gift card to go with it. Had all of my fabrics cut and got ready to check. THEN I was told they no longer accept any coupons or promotions and no longer accept gift cards. I asked who was going to refund the money back. I was told to take it up with the new owners. There is no signs anywhere that say anything!

poor customer service I went up to the door and the lady ran out and ignored me when I said if I could get my fabrics I got there at 9:05pm and then the lady ignored me again when she was leaving to her car even tho I called ahead to let them know that I was going to be there at 9:00 or just a few minutes past and she said okay lll have it ready for you when you get here and she did not L service never going here again after a year of poor service lost a good customer never again will I spend my money here!!!

Lady at the cutting area was unnecessarily rude because I had a simple question. Then there was only 1 register open with 12 or so people waiting in line. Management seems to be lacking at this location. Took around 30 minutes for a simple in store pickup.

2.5-3 stars. Maybe I’m just unlucky, but the handful of times I’ve been in here I have a bad experience with the staff. Once I was told they couldn’t give me any of the discounts because I didn’t have an account even though I had the coupons pulled up on the website with a barcode.
This time I was checking out and the computer wasn’t working and she told me I wouldn’t be able to use my gift card, I kind of pushed back and she finally manually entered it and it worked. It seems like most of them are cranky and annoyed.
The exception is Robin - super friendly and helpful!
There is a decent selection of materials. The aisles are small and crammed.

We ordered some frames from their website. Took a month to get to us. When we received them the glass was shattered on them. These things happen, so I went to the store to return them. The lady at the counter returned the items minus the shipping and didn’t mention anything about it. When I asked about why they didn’t return the shipping, she immediately started a conversation about something else with someone over her headset. I tried to talk to her and she seemed annoyed. After going to my car I tried calling to speak with the manager. The person who answered the phone grilled me about why I wanted to talk to the manager then hung up on me. I called back and was again hung up on. I tried one last time several hours later at about 3:30 pm. I was then told that the manager was gone for the day. I then went on the website and requested a call for the manager. Now 3 days later, they haven’t returned my phone call. Stay away from the springfield Mo location as they clearly don’t care about customer service. Our situation occurred Thursday the 14th at around 12:40 PM

Joann fabrics is the coolest store in the Springfield region. If you are interested in just about ANY type of crafting or sewing project they have you covered. I hope more people start to give this business their money, they have great deals and a HUGE selection. It feels like a grandma haunting ground but don't let that feeling dissuade you from creating something amazing. I actually really love the low key environment, there is no smoke and mirrors. It's a place you can go and purchase the near raw materials to create whatever your imagination thinks up.
