Dr. Ruth Ann Wood-Humiston, the CEO - Funeral Director, met with us on Christmas Eve morning after our loved one passed earlier that day. She was gracious, caring, and compassionate. She worked with one out of town family member using Google Teams so they could participate in the planning of our service. She kept us up-to-date by email. She was able to make a change in the obituary after we realized we had made a mistake. She made all of our family feel like they were heard. She treated our guests with graciousness. Dr. Ruth Ann Wood-Humiston and her staff made this an easy transition for our family. When you walk in the door you feel that they care about you and your comfort. They cared for us from the time they picked up our loved one, through the planning stages, during the service, and as we traveled to and back from the cemetery. Her choice of vendors for flowers, memorial books, medallions, thank you notes, and more are of the highest quality. Our availability to add a livestream webcast to our package allowed family and friends across the USA to participate from afar. Everyone felt grateful for being able to attend online. I would highly recommend using Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. Not only did the staff play an inappropriate song at my loved ones funeral, (staying alive), but when confronted about it they said, "well most people don't even notice". So that tells me they've done this before. And I feel very sorry for all those other families. If you can't be sensitive to people going through a very difficult time, then you shouldn't work at a funeral home. (And no, since you'll try saying the family sometimes picks out the music, our family did no such thing. And in fact everyone was quite appalled when that song came on).

Losing my mom was the hardest thing that's ever happened to me, she was my best friend. Everyone at Walnut Lawn were friendly and compassionate. Claudine was the funeral director taking care of my mom and the rest of us as well. She picked up my mom and was very compassionate at the worst time in my life. She was there when I made the arrangements and she was at the graveside service. She tried very hard to make sure all of my wishes were followed. I really appreciate everything she did to help me and my family at this time. She even helped me find a cemetery near our home for the burial. She treated us like we were family. Thank you Walnut Lawn.

We used Walnut Lawn Funeral Home for my parents, my wife's parents and most recently, my wife. We have had excellent service each time. The funeral directors we dealt with have all been caring and paid attention to our wishes. There was never any "hard sell" as to the casket, memory books or other items. I would highly recommend Walnut Lawn for anyone who has lost a loved one.

They made the whole process of my mom's service very easy. They are kind and caring without being intrusive. The book with all the flowers sent was truly appreciated. They also took care of my dad's cremation and service in 2020. Wonderful people. The follow up resources sent were a nice surprise and needed.I would recommend Walnut Lawn Funeral Home to anyone needing a cremation/funeral. Again, excellent and caring staff.

We used walnut lawn funeral home for both my parent’s cremations. One in 2015 one in 2023. We pre-paid the one for dad when we needed mom’s cremation done and had no issue with using that credit for dad’s cremation .The prepayment only covered the cremation with the basic container though, so be aware that if you want to decorative container, you will be spending more money. Also it’s more expensive on weekends. As I recall Saturday is $500 more and Sunday is $1000 more for use of their facility. The Director that we worked with was very nice. I will say that we did a small service. they did a picture slideshow for it and played music from Spotify that turned out very well and we ordered from their catering service,I do not feel the value was there for the catering service for two reasons we had a lot of food left we anticipated 100+ people and ordered three trays of the dessert and fruit and there was a ton of it left.Second , it appears it came from the Mcalisters Deli and I suspect if you had done it directly, it would’ve been cheaper if that’s allowed I did not even ask.Overall happy with the service.

My Sister's and I suffered the loss of three family members within a month and a halfs time. Walnut Lawn was with us through an incredibly difficult and devastating time and went far above and beyond to help with arrangements and gave us helpful options and other much appreciated efforts at our time of need .They clearly cared and understood our loss and my family and I will always be incredibly appreciative for their service and compassion when it was truly needed.

So I went and ask about Cremation 2 to 3 years ago and the cost was 800 dollars I then called resently and it was over 22 hundred dollars I said wow that’s a big difference in price and her response was well everything has went up. So I shopped around and found someone else that does it for 887 dollars with death certificate the people i am now working with said their prices haven’t changed in 10 years I feel walnut Lawn should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people on their worst days how pitiful if they had a minus in star rating then they would have a negative if you feel this place is helping you I promise you they aren’t they’re a scam in your time of need shame on yo walnut lawn
