I asked the owner Pauline several times could she do my hair in a sew in and showed her the picture of how I wanted it. She told me the price and gave me an appointment. She was 2 hours late getting there, didn't offer any discount or any type of reimbursement. So I showed her the hair style again once she finally got to her shop. I told her this is how I want her to do my hair as I showed her the picture for the second time. And I asked her can she do it like the picture and she said yes.. then she told me that I needed to go get more hair which should've already been established before I got there. But I went and got more hair so after I got back to the shop I asked her was she still gonna charge me 150 dollars to do it and she said no it will be 180 since I had to get a third bag of hair which is what she should've told me before I left to getore hair.Now she told me that I didn't have to get 3 bags if I didn't want to but It wouldn't be full with only 2 bags of hair but failed once again to say that it would be more for her to do it with a 3rd bag of hair. When she got done she only used a very small portion of the 3rd bag of hair but still charged me the 180 instead of 150. Then I asked her why come she didn't cut it the way that it was in the picture and she told me to go home and roll it up first before I get it cut. I told her that it doesn't look like the picture. So went home and did what she said and it still looked a mess so I called her. She then told me that she don't style the hair she only installs the weave. Then I asked her why didn't she tell that before I got to her shop and why she didn't tell me that before she started on my hair. Then she said that everyone knows that she don't style and cut the hair. Then I told her well this was my first time having you to do a sew in so yur supposed to tell me regardless of what you've told everyone else. She's so money hungry and dirty hearted that she didn't even remembery face from the 5 times that I came to her shop for braids. So anyway I called her one more time about my hair and she offered no help or no type of refund when I was complaining about her lying about her being able to do the style. She got smart with me instead and started raising her voice and telling me about how her long time customers know that she don't do styling. I told her that she charge me the full price for the style but only did half of it and that the other beauticians charge what's she charges but they do all of the style. She got upset with me and started saying that I can't tell her what other people charge. I said to her that I have dealt with other people and nobody else does that but however, she was still supposed to tell me from the beginning that she don't style. Why would I spend almost 300 dollars for my hair to be half way done which it what I told her. And this was a hairstyle that I was getting for mother's Day and she ruined it and never apologized. She is a lying deceitful person and that's why her ratings are so low and negative. And she don't even wash your hair she have you to do it but won't take none of the money off. Also I was 11 dollars short when she got done and she wouldn't let me go. Kept telling me to go to the ATM at family dollar even though family dollar was closed. Mind you, she was 2 hours late and didn't do my hair the way I asked.will never go back I been going for years and she still didn't remember my face. Then had the nerve to ask me what do I want her do to about it and kept telling me that I have to find a beautician to style it the way I want. Then after she got smart with me she told me that she was driving and that she had to call me back but I never heard from her. So I'm gonna try to upload these pictures of my hair. They are the most unprofessional people I’ve ever encountered at a hair salon. This is my third visit because I liked my braids from Sonia, but she’s not here anymore. The braids are all over the place, and they’re also very expensive for someone who doesn’t know how to braid properly.

Pauline is a hustler this is the second time she has told me one price over the phone and changed the price at the salon. Understandably my hair is long so we agreed on a new price with about less than 1/3 of my hair left to braid she then says she did not know what style I was getting although was there the ENTIRE time I was getting my hair braided. The first time I said I would not come back here but this time I mean it. She claimed it was not about the money when we came to the initial agreement however in the end it was only about the money. There are too many braided in the area to keep getting hustled for a few dollars. It’s not about the money for me just be upfront on ur price and I’ll pay I always tip really good too. She has definitely lost a long time client and will tell all of my friends and family not to support her business any more!!!

The lady that did my hair I specifically asked for my edges not to be braided. She did it anyway and the other lady told her in their language to braid my back bigger where I can’t see it. My curls were falling out my boho braids and the way she parted my hair caused me to have a thousand braids. I will not be returning to this shop no more cause this is the second time my hair got messed up

The Stylist don’t listen, no matter what you ask for they will give you whatever they are use to doing, even after you explain in detail what you want to maintain the health of your hair, Pauline braids hair nicely however she does not handle business in a professional manner, I told her that her stylist didn’t do what they asked after I told Pauline what I needed as well, Pauline did the braids initially and I loved them, Pauline then said she would braid my hair the next time I came because this time was only a touch up, after hesitating to schedule with her because I didn’t want a service where the stylist don’t listen again I text the personal number that Pauline gave me because she was so apologetic that her stylist jacked my hair up, to only book with Pauline in the future only to find out she blocked me! For no reason! So if you want a stylist who cares about the quality of your own hair while wearing braids DONT GO TO PAULINES HAIR BRAIDING!

I am so HAPPY with my style. Bear with me.
1. Called Pauline’s African Braiding (St.Charles Rock Road) answered the call immediately
2. Shared my previous experience (my box braids in the back came out after 9 days - she asked if I had time to stop by very short hair (twa)
3. Explained my style, shared a pic. They can do, but not knotless-to short and they had to be small
4. Asked me to call the following morning at 7am to confirm my 8am appt. - she answered, I was 10 mins late
5. Started on my hair immediately (braiding hair was prepared upon arrival)
6. 6 hrs later, I’m done!
Love love love my hair.
The salon is Beautifully decorated, clean and smells wonderful (no food, must or any other odors)

My God-sister referred me and she was spot on!
$330 for the entire service
They did not break, talk on the phone or eat!
Without me asking (my front is thin and short) she recommended that she not braid and I loved that!

Pauline and her staff made me feel like family. The customer service was top notch. I’m in love with my small, waist length box braids. I wasn’t sure if I could get braids due to my hair being so short but Pauline and her staff exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them. I’m a very satisfied customer.
