I went to this GameStop and the workers were nice but they gave me a faulty code and when I called them they said that I was basically screwed and to google how to fix it. Now I lost $20 and I can’t do anything about it.

The only employee I saw inside tonight said nothing to us the 10-15 min we were inside. His cell phone was way more important as he (zach-name on receipt) never even looked up to make eye contact. No hi when we walked in, no can I help you find something, NOTHING. Id get a new employee.

If I could rate this store lower, I would. I came in 9-16-24 to buy a GameStop Refurbished PS5 controller.
Adrian, the guy that checked me out, was fine.
The controller, was not, and naturally I didn't pay extra for an extended warranty because for the $20 extra that it would have cost, I'd just get a new one.
I got home that evening to hook it up, nothing worked. Bluetooth was unresponsive, looked up fixes online, nothing helped.
The only way I could get the controller to register was to turn off the Bluetooth, which makes a wireless controller kinda useless. It's fine, I have 7 days to return it, I'll just do it tomorrow.
9-17-24, I make it back to the store 15 minutes to close, cutting it close, but I made it. Get inside and explain the situation to Gaige, the worker tonight.
Apparently nothing would scan, which he told me he told the previous guy as well, but he bought something before me so I don't know how it applies to this. He refused to call his manager for help and said, "he's not on shift" to which I said, "that's crazy because I thought store managers were salary. He does run the store right?"
His next excuse was "sometimes the registers just shut down before close" and he said his manager knew about it, which if true, sounds like a problem for corporate because it sounds like you all are losing out on sales.
Regardless, that's not how customer service works. You find a way to help your customer. There's a reason your brand is dying out. Why would I return to this?
I'm 2 days out of my 7 to return this thing now, and getting more annoyed each day.

Don't let them pester you into keeping a newly released game on hold for you, they'll say "we can't give it to you now" which that parts fine but selling your copy the day after it comes in is a bit of jerk move, don't bother with this game stop the manager isnt very intelligent

Great customer service. Called ahead to make sure they had the Switch that was on the website. Isaac couldn't have been more helpful. Great customer experience and will definitely continue going there. Thanks again Isaac

The place is ridiculously over priced...
A used Xbox one steering wheel for 130 bucks and I can get a brand new one from Amazon for 89 bucks never used.
Used games are just as pricey as brand new, never played games.
Craziness I think

My girlfriend purchased a Nintendo switch cartridge for me for my birthday. The sales associate Joseph convinced her that the cartridge needed a warranty. She didn’t know and purchased the warranty for a seemingly indestructible item. This is a bad practice and ensures I don’t shop here in the future.

Takes forever as they only help 1 customer at a time. If there are two people ahead of you, plan on being there for 30 minutes. They also try to obfuscate their warranties and members programs to get you to pay more without realizing it. They fixed it after I complained, but this just isn’t a store to trust.

Joe was awesome. He went out of his way to help us with all of our trading card questions. He was very accommodating, and was a pleasure to shop with. Thank you so much
