Terrible customer service, they blocked my account and I can't use my money and they haven't even sent me the card.

When we lived in St. Joseph, MO we chose to bank at BMO Harris. The service was positive and staff were friendly.The branch manager at one point sat down with me and, when trying to open an account we were going to use as a sinking fund, she kept on pressing me about opening a credit card.We don’t use credit cards— never have, never will. I made this clear in several conversations with her, including this one.Lo and behold, I received a BMO Harris Credit card in the mail. When I asked the branch manager, she claimed to have no idea how that could happen.Yikes! We would have shut down our accounts immediately but we were relocating in a couple months. BMO lost me.

Given only a handful of reviews online in the last 15 years. All were for exceptional service that exceeded expectations. When the opposite occurs, I just take my business elsewhere. BMO Harris has been my bank for many years (checking, mortgage) and my experience has always been positive. Can't just take my business elsewhere because of the inconvenience of doing so & it really is a case of two individuals who shouldn't be in customer facing positions in the St. Joseph, Missouri location. The last couple of months I've had to start using this location since it is now the most convenient. On multiple occasions, the bank teller in the drive-thru has been condescending and rude. After the most recent interaction, I asked to speak to the branch manager and the teller said, 'well ok but she isn't going to tell you anything different.' I don't know the teller's name but she has been there 28 years according to the 'new' branch manager. The 'new' branch manager since May was also a major disappointment. After giving her a brief overview of my experiences with the teller; she informed me of the teller's length of tenure and that she was surprised by my feedback. I told her this wasn't the first time I'd had a bad experience and the teller's tenure didn't matter to me. The 'new' branch manager said, 'don't talk to me like I'm a 2 year old, I've been doing this for 20 years and YOU have a good day' then hung up on me.

Horrible business practices. $200 was credited to our account as a “promotional perk”. Awesome! Money was spent. And then without notification the money was withdrawn! So here come the insufficient funds charges. When I called irritated I was informed that it was an error and that notification was sent letting us know it was being withdrawn....1. No notification was received by me and 2. That money was spent! And now I have fees for your mistakes! HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!! Never do business with this place. What a joke of a bank.

Everytime I come to this bank I have to wait for a very long time. The lady at the drive up always tells me to come to the lobby but then she doesn't come up and takes care of people driving up. She is super rude and isn't very helpful. I'm considering leaving the bank just because of her.
