I went in as a “hat person” and particularly like Stetson hats, planned on buying 2-4 hats and having an awesome day. I live nowhere close to here, convinced a buddy for a Saturday road trip and off we went.Walking in, super cool, lots of hats all over and some wonderful prices and options. The only issue I had was that the size I wear was seemingly very rare (if you rock a 7 1/4 head you’re GOLDEN here) and I wanted to ask if all of the sizes were on display or if there were more in the back or something, as is relatively common.I was greeted at the counter by a woman that I figured would help and she seemed nice, but instead of answering the question decided to judge me and assume I know nothing about any of this. I get it, I am a bit goofy and dressed for a fun chill day with my buddy and didn’t look formal by any stretch, but that doesn’t mean to verbally assault me.I asked the question, was asked what size I was, which is cool since I thought hey, maybe she is going to direct me to an area and I wasn’t getting the organization quite right. I said 7 1/2, I was explained to that I’d a “Large” in the hats I would be able to handle. Admittedly I was confused as I own a couple Stetson hats that use standard American spectrum sizing, I am very much an XL, not a large. I said I wear an XL in those kinds of hats, where I was told that is 7 3/4 and I’m wrong.I tried to stay composed but was getting very pissed, all I asked was if there were more sizes available, I didn’t need the Stetson size conversion chart explained to me. Maybe it should be explained to her though as if it were as cut and dry as this = that, they wouldn’t use spectrum sizing and 7 1/2 falls right on the line between the sizes actually and it is common and recommended to “size up” and use a sizer pad if needed. She decided to give up on me, I’m clearly too stupid to understand how anything works. Takes me to the hats area and hands me a 7 3/4 hat, directs to to try it. THAT WILL NOT FIT ME, I TOLD YOU MY SIZE AND STILL HAVENT GOTTEN THE INITIAL QUESTION ANSWERED. I put it on my head, show it falling all over and hand it back, asking to just be done with this interaction.A very old woman, probably in her 70’s and definitely nearing the end of her days, took over counter duties as the other person helping me went to do some hat shaping which is also listed as not available on Saturdays, which is hilariously why the friend came as he wanted a couple of his felt hats shaped and looked at and that didn’t end up happening. He was frustrated by the whole outfit here, left about 2 minutes into this experience to go to the gas station and come back knowing I intended to buy some hats.I still looked around, found a couple of hats I would honestly love to buy and were the couple options in my size but the elderly woman was a little louder than she realized and I got to listen to her talking sh** about me from the counter to another employee nearby for the entire time I remained there. At the end of the day, if an employee wants to go into an interaction with a terrible mood and attitude then it’s going to be what it is, and that’s what it was here. I left with no hats, an actual frustration with Stetson as a company from this interaction which hurts because I have always liked the brand very much and a feeling of hurt from being belittled by a random employee of a hat store. It doesn’t have to be like this but she chose to make it a bad experience, we left and will not be back, nor will I likely purchase a Stetson product again sadly as it just feels like supporting s company that doesn’t value its customers or the legacy they had. Unfortunate, could have been a home run for everyone involved and ended as a blemish on this store I hope others can learn from.

I have always enjoyed stopping in at least once a year from out of state. I have been coming here for more years than many of these other reviewers have been alive. I don't get all this crying about customer service it's a hat store folks. they aint selling you a car. I can go in and find 2 to 6 hats to buy, walk up and pay for them no problem. I don't expect to find everything since it is a factory outlet store. Not FOO PHONY COWBOY store in tourist town USA. I love open road Stetsons. But I know a may not find my size in there. But when i did in 2020, I saved 200 plus bucks by getting it there. I pick up 150 fedoras there often from 20 to 50 bucks. But it just depends on what they get from the factory.

The staff was extremely helpful and opened the store for me to come in while they were closed down for inventory. The reason I needed to go to the store was because there was an issue with the hat I purchased my boyfriend for Christmas. They let me in, fixed the issue, and we’re so friendly the entire time, although I know I was being an absolute pain. I will a million percent purchase every hat from the Stetson Outlet going forward. Even though it’s an hour and a half drive for me, it was absolutely worth the three trips I made up there.

Great staff and a great place for all your hat needs. Most of the hats are made in the USA. I'll definitely keep coming back.

I spotted this store from I-29 during my travels from Omaha to KC. I am glad that I stopped in to check it out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a good variety of hats and the prices cannot be matched anywhere else. Every time I am in the St. Joseph area I make sure I stop in.

Great place and real friendly and they are very helpful and knew there stuff. I was happy these ladies are there. Bought my last 4 Stetson from there. But they had half what they use to have because of Biden fuel prices.
