I am from Pennsylvania and was doing some home repairs for my nephew and we needed some extra tools. They had what we went their for. It is a really nice place. The staff was helpful. It would be a "go to" place for this handyman if I lived in the area.

Very convenient. There is parking close the door most of the time. Service is top-notch. The staff will always be there and take you to exactly what you're looking for.

I have always used Ricks as "my Ace Hardware". Recently I went by to purchase a Traeger grill. I had done my research and knew what I wanted. When I got there, there was a older "manager" up in her office and four or five young teenagers standing around, looking at their phones. When I asked for help on the barbecue grills, frankly, no one was available. One young boy tried to help, but knew very little about anything, and when he asked for help, was not assisted. He then just walked away without comment. I then tried to buy the grill online from Ricks and to have them deliver it. However, none of my "reward points" would transfer over or show up. Also, Ricks, in the past, had always done a free delivery and take away of your previous grill. You cannot order that on the online either. Bottom line, I went to Home Depot (better selection and the same bad service). Without the service, there is no reason to go to Ricks.

Fantastic service. Did not get the ladies name but I came in needing some help making my girlfriend feel safer in her home with her old school lock. Had me taken care of in under 5 minutes and said to come back if any issues.

Long have I both patronized, this store...In my view, this store is a staple of the community of Des Peres; an institution to new homeowners, gardeners, and contractors. This store and it's wonderful staff have just about everything under the roof; and if they don't have it, I promise you they can order it!To name a few here's a few things I've ordered from this very store:- solar panels from Ace (Work great!)- Special DeWalt/Milwaukee tools that aren't on the floor for display- Camping Gear- Sporting Goods Gear (Floor mats/Gloves)- Special Garden Soil (Mother Earth is Great!)- Threshing tools (Make sure you use a Poly Handle!)Talk with one of the staff members about finding what you're looking for! They probably have it, and if not they will set you on the right path in the community to find what you require.There are proud and hardworking people there like Sarah B, who care deeply and set the helpful tone that Ace promotes. She has a personable approach to assist in your needs, and makes you feel right at home. She runs a tight ship, and one of the best employees at this store. It's the infectious passion and pure will of her work ethic that make you realize: "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks" its no wonder her staff also cares deeply as well.In closing, the store looks fantastic (truly the best it's looked in ages), everything is clean and organized, and the staff continues to surprise me with how well the maintain it. I like this hardware store because it has the feeling of an old-fashioned neighborhood store unlike the big box stores. There’s actually quite a lot under the roof at this establishment.

I needed two screws for a chair and they went above and beyond measuring the screws and finding the exact washer that fit and the right tool extremely fast. It was great.
