Seems like they buy jewelry from temu and SHEIN and sell it for way more. Unethical business practice especially because these companies use child labor and there could potentially be toxic chemicals in the products.

avalon exchange has the potential to be great, but what will absolutely piss you off is being told you can sell clothes until 6, arrive before 6 (5:30), they don’t get to your clothes, tell you to come back the next day and then make you take your clothes back! i’m sure they were well aware this would be the case when i called and asked what time they stopped buying clothes. i was assured that as long as i came in before 6, id be helped. had they simply explained that i could bring clothes in, but that didnt necessarily mean they would get to me AND that i would have to carry it all back to my car 30 mins later on the phone, i would’ve stayed home until their next business day :/. very frustrating.

This is a great place to buy cheap clothing but a HORRIBLE place to sell it. They give you WAY less than platos closet and if you’ve ever been there to sell you already know … i brought in about $150 worth of clothing they took 3 items that cost me 120 and gave me $8 … i also wonder if i was yt would the pricing be different as ive heard ppl dealt with racism there … I’ve sold 3 times and ive never brought anything cheap but get change back.

Walked in, nobody there…we couldHear someone at the backBut didn’t see anyone, checked a few “vintage” T-shirts…realized that they where $25 and up…second hand, decided to leave, probably won’t be back any timeSoon

I've shopped here for a few years and resold clothes there once. I've heard a lot of people say they don't get their clothes bought by Avalon often but they took 5/7 garments that I gave them. I shop in both their mens and women's sides and the men's side consistently has more banger pieces in my opinion. The women's side has stuff from shein while the men's side has like.. vintage Nike and niche pieces. I think Avalon's always been a wee pricey but not often outside of what I'm willing to pay for something.

This is my absolute favorite spot to thrift— they always have the most eclectic and diverse range of styles. You’re not going to buy something here and then see it out on someone else later that day. They’re unique. I always tell my friends that you can shop for any decade in this place — especially the 70’s or 80’s. The vibes are immaculate~ this is also a great place to sell clothes. They tend to take much more than Plato’s Closet ever does which I genuinely appreciate.
