We lost trust in Dr Barron after a bad ER experience. His advice led to a member of our family being medically abused and traumatized and not even an apology from Dr. Barron.

I'm not from STL, so I was a little overwhelmed with so many choices for general practitioners in the area. I choose Barren because they were close, small and accepting new clients. This family clinic exceeded my expectations! Sue, a nurse practitioner, was incredibly patient, caring and helpful. Barren has earned my family's business, and I will be recommending them to friends.

I have never had a more positive experience with any other doctor I have ever visited. Dr. Barron and Sue Leon, the nurse practitioner from this office, go above and beyond as medical professionals. They are incredibly knowledgeable about medicine, but most importantly, they really care about their patients. Dr. Barron once spent over an hour with my insurance company in his office during a visit until 5 pm, when I'm sure he would have rather been at home, making sure I could get access to a treatment that he knew I needed. This is not the only time he went out of his way to help me. Countless times he has made great decisions with my medical care that have really benefited me and uncovered things that other doctor have missed.
I could not overstate how well-qualified, kind, and courteous the people in this office are. I recommend this general practitioner to everyone I know, and trust them implicitly with my medical care. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great (and affordable) general practitioner/nurse practitioner.

It’s funny what people will complain about. Part of the reason I like Barron Family Medicine so much is because it isn’t part of a huge network. A lot of the complaints in reviews are from people who expect some kind of impersonal infallibility. I prefer the approachable and down to earth atmosphere that I experience there.

I always admired how cool and collected Dr. Barron seemed until I brought concerns to him about medical abuse my daughter endured due to his recommendations. I realized at that point that his demeanor is due to complete disinterest in the overall well being of his patients. Our family is still dealing with iatrogenic trauma due to the recommendations of this horrible practice.

This place is private and quiet. They are one of the few nice places left that take medicaid. They are courteous and quick as well as efficient. They genuinely care about their patients and take time to get to know you as an individual person not base you and your health against statistics and averages. They don't judge and they are very professional. Wonderful place and wonderful people.

I've personally never been to see Dr.Barron, but I've had multiple bad service from the nurse practitioner Sue and the receptionist Jasmine.
I first came because I had new health insurance and it was close to my work.. I came in for anxiety and chronic pain. Nurse Sue refused to keep me on my anti anxiety medication I've been on for 2+ years, so I was forced to withdrawl off those and was very sick for weeks and still have sleeping problems, on top of my anxiety being worse than ever. I am very skinny with a fast metabolism, but she kept trying to insist I had an eating disorder for no other reason than my weight. Then when I came back for the chronic pain, she once again was more concerned about my weight, making me feel very insecure and uncomfortable.
They then wanted to do blood work, after I told them I had nothing to eat OR drink that day, was not feeling very well, and I was afraid of passing out. They had the receptionist Jasmine take my blood. They said I'd be fine. Didn't offer me water, crackers, a popsicle, NOTHING. Then once she started taking my blood I felt me passing out and said it multiple times but she kept going and I passed out while she took my blood...
After my blood work came back it showed I have RA. I've missed a lot of work because of all of this (my pain and doctors appointments). My employer has a simple 6 question form for them to fill out just explaining I have medical problems that can cause me to miss work. Jasmine, the receptionist, told me in order for me to have that form filled out I'd have to make an appointment and pay my $30 copay...all just to walk in and have her check a few boxes and sign... When there is absolutely no reason she could not do that over fax, or even if just me going up there, without paying a copay.
These people do not seem very caring about people at all and care more about making money. I can't say anything about Dr.Barron, but I can say I would never recommend this doctors office to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

We could not be happier with Dr. Barron. He spends a great deal of time with us each time we visit, and listens to our questions and concerns very carefully. Several times when our toddler son has been sick, I was able to reach Dr. Barron promptly on the phone to discuss our son's symptoms and decide if he needed to be seen in the office. Every time he needed to be seen, he was able to get an appointment the same day. Dr. Barron's staff is friendly and helpful as well. We absolutely love this office and are very grateful for the wonderful care they provide.
