This place is a neighborhood gym. First off, it's an acute deuter revival building that's about 100 years old. It has a bay labeled Auto laundry where they used to wash cars. But they give great auto service and Rick, the guy who runs the place is a great guy. He listens when customers describe the funny noises, their cars make and doesn't even raise an eyebrow. He's very patient and understanding. The prices are good. I just bought tires, and the price he quoted not only included mounting balancing and alignment. It even included sales tax! I love this place!

Google made me give this 1 star, this place don’t deserve any stars!! I purchased a used tires from them for $75 only to drive off the lot and put air in it the next day, and again and again. I took it back up there and the guy who sits at the front, possibly the manager stated that I could drop the car off and they will look at it. It took 20 minutes probably less for them to put the tire on and now that I have an issue with it (still under warranty) he don’t want to assist me in my emergency. He stated that I drove the car up there on a flat basically implying that it’s ok for me to keep driving it around with it being low and seeping air. He was rude and unprofessional not willing to assist me when they sold me a defective tire. I will never go to this place again, but your tires elsewhere because they will overcharge you for defective tires. BEWARE!!

My husband to my suv into the shop he told my husband everything would be 450 and then called back and said he needed to get the compressor out the car to do it and said it would be 550 and my husband said he couldn’t pay that and he said you can’t come up with a extra 100 my husband said no, and when we go the car back he unhooked the AC as well and we had to go back. He is trying to get extra money.

Excellent, professional work from Rick and his team! I brought a Tesla Model 3 in from out of state and had an ID/OD and safety inspection performed.
Upon inspection, Rick identified a critical defect in the tire sidewall that most would have overlooked and quickly consulted with me, advising that this was a necessary repair. He worked quickly to order a special tire for the vehicle and notified me as soon as the tire arrived. Once I brought the vehicle back, he competed the repair in approximately 30 minutes and I was on my way.
Rick was very communicative and transparent from start to finish. Pricing was fair, and Rick even went the extra mile to follow up and ensure that everything was driving smooth. Great service, I highly recommend Bates Street Tire & Automotive!

Great Service. Professional and they know what they’re doing.
I’ve been going from place to place for 4 years and this is the only shop that was able to fix my car.
It took awhile, but 100% worth it.
In their defense, I dropped my car off 30 mins before they open (thinking it was another station I made an actual appointment with) and they were booked solid. My car isn’t an easy car to fix and they stuck with it and we’re honest about the problems and cost.
I am very pleased.
Not a single complaint.
Best car repair station I’ve come across in over 30 years.

Absolutely great work and will give honest recommendations on the work. Rick and his team were able to recommend a repair that was needed on our 2016 Jeep that we had just grown accustomed to and it is now so much better. They just replaced the brakes on my 2013 Mazda and were way better priced than a chain up the street. Thank you! I will continue to bring my vehicles here for work!

One of the best places to go for vehicle inspections because these guys are super flexible with scheduling and do same day inspections (probably one of the only spots in the area that do walk ins) as long as you have time to wait. They are skilled, super experienced, and so efficient! Big thank you to Rick and Bill for the phenomenal work .
