I reserved a moving truck but couldn't pick it up because their system was down. They had me call corporate customer service, who assured me they'd find another location with the same truck, and would call me back in 15 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and still no call, so I had to make a last minute U Haul reservation instead, since I need a truck today, the day of my reservation. Unneccessary stress for my moving day, can't recommend this company to anyone.

Booked and confirmed truck online with the same card and drivers license. Get to location and greeted by the most entitled and incompetent employee who boosted about being a 15 year employee of the company. I give confirmation number, card, and id.Refused rental because of spelling mistake by bank, fine. Same employee goes and gives me the 15 year spiel and I can’t use card for rental and my card will not be used on the reservation. Asked for other proof and form of payment with spelling correct,fine (showed 11 other forms of payment to confirm). To add insult to injury my card was charged due to her incompetence on how to cancel reservation properly where my card wouldn’t be charged. Go to uhaul center on kingshighway and 44 complete professionals.

Do not use Budget Rental. I reserved a truck one month in advance. When time came to pick up the truck the place I was supposed to pick up at had no idea what I was talking about. Come to find out they had me logged to pick up in downtown St Louis in an area you would not have wanted to be at night. When we got to the place they didn’t even have the right truck for us. They had a cargo van for us which all of our stuff did not fit and we had to leave items with family. This wa all after flying from Florida to Missouri just to do this. I got a van that we didn’t think it would make it back to Florida. Didn’t even get a contract due to printer not working. I even had to fill out the damage report myself because the people would not go out to do it. When I turned it in at Florida location they didn’t even come out to look at it. Place is a joke and do not trust them

Horrible customer service... We rented a lux suv for a long road trip months in advance through Expedia for a reasonably good rate. Upon arrival, we were informed by the employee at the counter that "this location doesn't get lux suvs" and that we would have to go to the airport location which was 30 mins away. My first thought was; why were we allowed to make the reservation in the first place? The employee then informed us that they had called us the day before and left a message letting us know. We unfortunately missed the message. The employee's tone seemed to suggest the error was ours for not getting the 24 hour notice and reacting accordingly. The employee had zero interest in helping us beyond that. We ultimately had to make a new last minute reservation at a much higher price elsewhere. We will never rent from this location again and will probably avoid the Budget car rental brand in general.

“Even if you book months ahead of time, we’re still not guaranteed to have your truck at your appointment time.” A direct quote from the lady at the Olive St Budget office. They did not have my truck on Wednesday night for my appointment time, so the worker GUARENTEED they would have it by Thursday morning at 7am. Even said he would check in after hours to see if the truck arrived or drive to St Peter’s to get my truck from a lot. The truck still was not there that next morning and the lady was the most rude person I had ever come across. Avoid this place like the plague unless you want to scramble last minute and book with Penske or UHaul anyways because they won’t have your truck.

Don’t know how to give zero stars. Made a reservation for a truck and it got canceled an hour before I was supposed to pick it up when I called corporate they told me I had to give them a number that I was never given confirmation number “wasn’t good enough” Information and then my name was never recorded in their system. Also every every budget truck rental in the area said that we had the wrong phone number after we got it off the budget website.

Literal circus. Had a reservation placed for a 16" truck weeks in advance at the Fairview Heights, IL location. Was told they had no trucks. so they moved my reservation to this one instead. I go to pick it up only to find out that the customer support team cancelled my reservation without my knowledge or consent. The front desk worker did nothing to help the situation as it was "out of their power," but in hindsight could've just called customer service to set things straight. Instead they told me I could call them. So I called them, and while I was on the phone with them, I watched the worker take another guest out to the last truck on the lot that had I reserved. Unbelievable. I was offered up to $250 compensation if I booked with a competitor. There were no trucks available anywhere as this was the end of July which is a hot date for moving. I took what I could get in order to move my stuff out of my apartment, otherwise suffer $500/day for overstay fees - so I booked an SUV. Budget said they couldn't validate it because it was an SUV and was only willing to give me $25 in good gesture even though they put me in a hopeless situation. This company deserves to go out of business.

This place is the seventh circle of Hell. Was told there would be 9, 12-ft budget trucks for us to rent. We checked weekly in the month prior to our pickup date. We show up on the date of pickup, and there are 2 trucks available, but both undrivable - one had a smashed windshield, one had a stolen catalytic converter. With no truck available, we had to resort to a 9 ft moving van. Problem is, the moving van had smashed tail lights, missing wheel wells, and a cracked windshield. We had no other option but to take this truck as we had to leave hours after pick up. Due to the smaller moving apace, I had to throw away some of my belongings. The National hotline and regional branch showed no remorse and gave only a 10% discount. Please, PLEASE stay away and choose Penske or Enterprise

Prepaying for my rental online was easy enough, except the website will show a car at say, $50/day, but right when you're about to checkout, the price will shoot up to $100+ for "taxes and fees, etc." I get to the Olive location in St. Louis that has a sign outside saying it opens at 8:00 am, but the person at the desk who isn't wearing a mask asks the three people in the facility to wait. Once I get my car, it's awesome and very comfy, besides the fact that it reeks of cigarettes, but I remember, it is a budget rental service. It's not until after you pick up the car do they reaaaallly screw you. Instead of getting charged a $250 deposit, I was charged $342 along with the prepay of $90+. When I called and asked why I was charged that instead of just $250, the person on the phone from the Olive location says they didn't do that/it wasn't them even though I'm literally looking at my bank statement with the two different charges. Now that I'm negative, I'm charged an overdraft fee from my bank. THEN when I turn the car in with a full tank of gas, I am charged another $7.00 and some change for something else! I call and ask again; they say it's because of gas. So, I'm charged another overdraft fee from my bank. NICE!

If you are looking to rent a car from Budget/Avis at the Saint Louis location, you need to look elsewhere. By far, the worst experience I have ever encountered. Starting with the shuttle arriving at the airport an hour late. When I arrived at the rental car location, the staff was slow and not courteous the customers. Once I received my car, it smelled like someone hotboxed with weed before giving it the customer. Then to top it off, I arrived at my location after 2 1/2 hours on the road to Fort Leornwood and found out the fricken plates are expired. Tried to call the office countless times and all I have gotten is crickets. Is this how you treat your customers? Truly disappointed!

What I hated was that I was given an old raggedy truck with the check engine light on, the engine didn't have the power needed to pull a trailer with my car causing me drive much slower, there was no cruise control for 1000 mile trip, the windshield wipers didn't work right, and the headlights even on high beams were so dim and filmed over that it prevented me driving during the night so I was forced to stay in a hotel for two nights!HEED MY WARNING...if you're going on a long one way trip DO NOT USE Budget. Penske or Uhaul will at least give you a newer truck with cruise control, better engine and windshield wipers that will actually remove rain in one swipe!

I scheduled a truck rental weeks in advance for an out of state move. They wait to contact me the day of my move 30 minutes before time for pickup. I WAS LIVID!! UNACCEPTABLE!! The lady tried calling other locations to see if they had anything available but they were saying the same thing. Then I check my credit card statement a couple days later, which she told me I didn’t secure the truck on a credit card when I did, to find out that they were charging me $75 for not showing up to pick up the truck!! If I could give zero stars I would. They didn’t offer me anything. I was stuck on my own to figure everything out. Then she said I could call the 1-800 number but said that wouldn’t even help to do that. The communication was very poor, attitudes were poor, management was poor. PLEASE BE AWARE WHEN RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY.

I have rented large trucks more than 5 times to move my furniture cross-country, and the customer service I received was absolutely the best. The location owner assisted me in ways I can't begin to describe when my Condo rental in St. Louis fell through. I am truly grateful for the experience and will always use this facility for my St. Louis, Mo. moving needs. The Olive Street location is close to downtown and very well secured. Great BBQ in the area if you have some time to burn. PS, don't listen to the 1st to review, it sounds like the person enjoys dropping 1 star reviews no matter where RB steps foot.
