City Museum is a unique and interactive museum located in the Washington Avenue Loft District of St. Louis, Missouri. Opened in 1997, the museum features a vast collection of repurposed architectural and industrial objects, creating an extraordinary playground-like experience for visitors. The museum's exhibits encourage exploration and physical activity, with numerous opportunities to climb, crawl, and discover hidden corners. Reviewers describe the museum as "amazing," with "sculptures" and an "insectarium" that captivate visitors. The museum's live organ piano performance in the cave is a particular highlight. While the museum is suitable for all ages, visitors recommend caution with younger children, as it's easy to lose them in the expansive and intricate spaces. Proper attire, such as athletic pants and shirts, is advised to maximize comfort and enjoyment. Visitors also suggest bringing minimal personal items and staying hydrated, as the physical nature of the museum can be quite demanding. Despite the physical challenges, reviewers unanimously agree that the City Museum is a unique and unforgettable experience, with one visitor describing it as a "kid-like experience without the kids." With over 700,000 visitors in 2010, the museum has become a beloved destination for both locals and tourists alike.

Absolute gem to discover in the heart of St. Louis. This old shoe factory has been magically transformed into a multi story playground with art and informative exhibits sprinkled in. Exploration and fun are everywhere and it made me wish I was a kid again so I could fit into all of it’s nooks and crannies.
