Could have been 5 stars. This museum is too meaningful and informative for the workers that work there. Firstly I enjoyed the art but the workers were rude. They did not greet us but instead looked very rude and unkindly. They even turned the lights off in the middle of us viewing. Get workers that appreciate art and all ways. Overall worth coming by.

My husband and I were lucky to be able to have our wedding reception at CAM. Bonnie, the events manager, helped make our day incredibly magical! People have been raving about it, and I can't get over how beautiful and joyful it was in the performance space. I am so grateful for all the time, energy, attention to detail, and support Bonnie and the staff gave us. I would absolutely recommend CAM for your special event! :)

Read this if you are considering renting the space!!I did not have a chance to see much of the museum itself, so I cannot comment on the museum. We rented out the space for an event, and the event coordinator was absolutely horrendous. She repeatedly yelled at guests, including the mother of the bride. She was unhelpful and rude to the catering staff. Even something as small as trying to leave a lost item in the museums lost and found was a battle. Know that the event rental does not include actual staff to help set things up, and you must either hire additional staff or do it yourself. We put on 150 chair covers and the staff did nothing to help. Our party had to handle the entire takedown with little help from the staff. I am not sure if this is just their policy or if the staff should have been helping us but wasn’t. The museum itself seems interesting and probably worth going back for, but this is NOT a good space for events.

Incredibly engaging, a great place to wander and have an emotional experience, a place that makes it feel like there's no right or wrong answer to have about art. Enchanting to walk through.Very kind docents. I never felt awkward or pressured to move on from a space before I was ready. One even turned up the audio upstairs for me so I could listen to the interview with the artist (and there was also a transcript, which is so meaningful--accessibility is so important!).I loved the upstairs space where I could sit, listen to the artist interview, and color--just what I felt inspired to do after walking around and thinking about all the vivid juxtapositions I'd just seen.If you get a chance, see the Jacolby Satterwhite exposition before it leaves in August. There are some adult themes but nothing a modern kid would blush at, most likely! ?Oh--my one gripe. Please do away with the gendered bathrooms. Standing in front of a men's and women's bathroom as a non-binary person, reading the sign that says, "Please use the one where you're most comfortable," was not the highlight of my day. Thank you.

Am I a contemporary art fan? Idk sometimes? They have very cool window installations (or maybe windows into the exhibits) I pass on the way to work. These are often what lure me in. It's a really big space that just feels calm. So probs great place to go when stressed. Street parking is usually abundant and it's free!

I visited three weeks ago with my husband. The lady at the counter asked if it was our first time here. I said yes and she gave me a pamphlet and said have a good time. The bottom floor exhibits were full of motion picture sexual content and other forms of sexual content. There were no signs displayed at the front with a disclaimer and the lady said nothing about it. At the bottom of the pamphlet it said in fine print sexual content included which I did not see until we left. I think they should have given some indication it would be like that. Children, people with PTSD, or other issues walk in with absolutely no warning.

It was exhibiting Jacolby Satterwhite’s works when I went there. Not many exhibits and mostly in video format. Not very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. But I like the themes “We are in hell when we hurt each other” and “How lovely is me being as I am”

I didn't know this place was here. It's quiet and a cool place to take the kids. My children loved it. It has an area for children with coloring sheets, blank paper, color pencils and crayons, books, etc. The kids enjoyed the high school students artwork and we spent about 45 min just hanging out. A nice place to visit on a rainy day.

Didn’t know what to expect coming here. Museum is free. Upstairs they have art from High school kids talking about equity & equality. Downstairs there’s more adult art from when we visited. Very abstract, thought provoking, graphic. Don’t bring kids to the downstairs there is nudity. Very fun place.

Profetic 2nd floor installment done to promote artwork for equity was magnificent beyond words. Its shine was diminished due to the main exhibitions cacophony of insanity. For better accessibility and immersion in various experiences, a start and stop button per video station would have allowed people to start the videos' Journey at any time. Unless it was the artist intent to overwhelm people with sensory issues, glad I brought my headphones, I believe they would like their art respected as individual pieces instead of Orchestra of Madness.Sustainability and energy wise? I would be curious to know their data on how many people visit throughout the week. I was there most of the afternoon on a weekday and felt like the only 1 at times. Yet, videos play on auto loop. As some of the videos were longer, I also had to wait quite a while to fully enjoy each of the pieces. More often than not, people would walk by without stopping for long.Conversations about gender are person specific and not easily understood without starting from the intended artists' beginning. For this reason, it was disappointing for me on various levels.

Cool place and it's free. It wasn't too big. Just enough stuff for a great visit and a wonderful shared courtyard with the Pulitzer Arts center. There was a kid's room for our baby to explore things.
