Bought my favorite frozen steam buns. Opened and bag full of mold. I took them back told manager she needed to throw out there supply and check the rest. She said no I said things don't mold in freezer when frozen so it had to be out of freezer long enough to get warm enough to grow mold so it would not be one packet. She believes that frozen foods is still good stored out of freezer as long as sealed. They have no basic understanding of food safety.

Jay's has been my go-to for years, given they're conveniently located and carry a diverse selection of products, but lately they've lacked some essentials such as whole nappa cabbages and other vegetables they used to regularly carry.

Too expensive for Indian groceries. Try Guraang bazaar (just 2 miles away)

I have shopped at Jay I for years. It seems to be at a decline with the items I am familiar with and love.

Stopped into jays in August and bought a few things. Bought these patties and decided to open the package to bake in the oven instead of doing them the microwave. Thank God I did, mold all through them. Sent them a fb msg, have not gotten any response or anything. I took a trip to St. Louis, I do not live there .

Great variety and such a mix! It's not just an Asian food store, it has foods from all the far corners of the earth. I'd recommend this to any foreign visitor looking for the ingredients to do a little home cooking. This the stuff you just can't get at Schnucks or Dierbergs. I should mention the staff are very helpful and friendly. Most of all my Ate Rezi insist on buying all her Asian veggies there.

Jay's is my go-to for any hard-to-find ingredients. The produce is fresh and prices are reasonable.
