I stopped in to get a book to read on my road trip. The friendly staff was able to find the book I was looking for within minutes of my arrival.

Most definitely a book store with a far left bias. Maybe that’s given in the name — this is the only business I’ve ever seen that tells people on a sign that they need to use gender-neutral language. If bookstores only sell one side of political thought now, we are heading down a slippery slope… I don’t think I’ll be back and didn’t buy anything in here when I did visit.

I love their used book section. Most books are $6-7 and they are well organized and easy to look for a genre or author.

I decided to pop in for a few minutes while exploring Central West End, and I was not disappointed! Left Bank Books is a true gem, and the staff were all very friendly. I definitely plan on coming back soon.

A little tight when multiple people are in the store at once but they have a pretty decent selection. Make sure to check out the downstairs area. Found some cheap cook books down there that were exactly what I was looking for. The newer fiction books are down there so make sure you take a peek

This book store is so cute and the employees were so helpful! I wanted niche books and they went through the entire section with me to find what I was interested in. Will def come back.

A wonderful independent bookstore. Wonderful selection, including used books. Staff recommendations, great vibe, and a black cat too. What's not to love for lovers of the written word?

We didn’t let the cat out. We did read through so many handwritten recommendations of left-wing books. We did overspend. We did walk to the park and pick up gooey butter cake at Straub’s.

Left bank books is such a cool independent bookstore. I spent a long time browsing all of their carefully curated sections. I love the downstairs with used books. Lots of interesting gift items upstairs and a super cold children section.

I am very thankful this book store exists! I give it 4 stars because there are some issues about the selection that deserves attention . Firstly, the store is geared toward progressivism which is GREAT! However, I don’t feel like it’s that well thought out; I think a lot of their books would be considered pop-progressivism/liberal books that have catchy titles and covers. They have very broad sections of non fiction that don’t necessarily do a good job directing you to the more niche spaces. This line of books however are great for the average person and I understand and appreciate its presence. However, if you’re someone who is into more leftist primary sources rather than authors who synthesize primary sources then they won’t have that here unfortunately. Their philosophy and theory section is extremely limited and honestly quite disappointing for a book store that prides itself on being progressive.Of course I know this isn’t a massive metropolitan center that can have that niche but I just wanted to comment to tell other folks who are looking for philosophy, theory, and/or progressive/leftist primary sources. Of course you can order any book through them which is great though!
