Came here in November for a concert. Stayed 1 night. The room was old. No problem with the age, but it had a small to it. Had to keep the window opened. When I got there, the lady at the front desk got upset with me because I have my Afghanistan Veteran hat on. She got an attitude and said “no hats in the lobby you were made aware of this rule when you booked”. I stated I was not aware as I booked online. Needless to say I forgot when I was leaving and again was given an attitude for wearing my hat. I may stay here again because the price was decent and the location to downtown and sights we wanted to see. But Customer service needs some training.
Nearby activities: St. Louis Archway
Walkability: Done at americas center, most of downtown St. Louis

Honestly worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything in the room was damp. there was no air or a/c controls and it had a musty smell.
I then tried to checkout after only being there 5 hours and asked for some sort of discount, they still charged me the full $250.
I would recommend not staying at the MAC unless you want a bad experience.
Rooms: Absolutely awful. They call not modernizing the hotel part of its "Charm" but still charge you modern amenities prices.

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here. The personal has always been great. Never a problem with service. I love the lobby. Location is a little tough if you're from out of town like myself, once you get the hang of the traffic it's do able. The sad thing is that it's not disability friendly. The last time I stayed was a few years back. My mobility was a little better. Although I did have issues back then, the rest of my experience was so good I had forgotten the negatives. This time, it was even more difficult. The rooms are not wheelchair friendly. Especially the bathrooms. You have to step up to get into them. They did provide a ramp to get into the bathroom. But now the door is blocked, and you can't get out. The toilet are for children. I'm a grown man, with bum legs. It was like sitting on the floor. Those are just a couple of the issues. There is nothing outstanding to override those issues. So has much as I love their beautiful lobby. Sadly, I'll never return.

I have stayed at this hotel before and found it lovely and a great value. The hotel is historic and has a historic charm. This stay was not good. The room was small with only a bed and straight back chair to sit in. We could not find air so had to open the window. The price was double from last time. The worst was the complete lawlessness of the area. Drag racing, cars revving, burnouts , illegal bands of ATVs and gunshots. Not a siren all night or sight of police. I can't believe St Louis allows this in their city. We won't be back.

Hotel rich in history, the rooms are not very large and there are not all the comforts but it is really characteristic. If you stay here you will feel like you have been projected back 80 years in some old American film. It's worth staying there at least once. Inexpensive parking.

Not the safest area and parking was kinda sketchy, but once you're inside, it's a 5 star experience with some beautiful architecture to take in.
