I love this store. All of the staff are really kind and welcoming.
I took my anxious dog to get groomed here for the first time and they treated him with so much love and I’m grateful for that :)
They also have a vaccination clinic that is affordable and has been great for me and my dog, and the vet and the vet techs were super kind and helpful during the process, also providing me a flea and tick prescription for my dog.
All in all, I really enjoy this store, it’s a little bit of a drive for me but honestly well worth it and I don’t mind taking it.
Updating to say I’ve been having a lot more trouble with the fish stock as of late. I’m not sure where the issue lies but the workers were all saying the fish are hit or miss it seems. I’ve went to competitor stores for stock and not had an issue at all, despite a particular person trying to embarrass me in front of other customers. Yet, going to another store the same day yielded me with fish that are healthy and happy.

Every time I have gone to the Maplewood location, I never have a good experience. The staff has poor customer service. The cashier is never engaged, always looking at their phone. Today, there was a line and two cashier's but only one running the register while the older one stood behind her with her hands on her hips watching her. Even if you are training, you still have to help the customers if there is a line of 3 or more people. I wasn't even acknowledged until the older lady saw I looked upset with their service. The girl who "helps" with the fish with the blue hair is very rude and not honest with how she tries to "educate" customers on what fish that SHE thinks they should buy while trying to convince you not to get what you came there for originally and then trying to upsell the most expensive items afterwards. This was the last time I ever go to that location again. Worst Petco in my personal opinion.

Petco has some of the worst shrinkflation I have ever seen. Their dog treats seem to jump in price monthly, and the packages are only 1/2 full. How stupid do their suppliers think we are?
I’m shopping at Target for their Kindfull brand treats from now on. They’re high quality, the packages are full, and their prices are reasonable. Screw you, Petco.

The person there would have rather continued to watch their video on their phone than help us. As soon as we checked out he went back to leaning against the wall with his phone.

I found the items I needed. At checkout, I was told a bag was 10 cents. Seriously? And then you ask me if I want to make a donation? I normally will "round" up but not if you're going to nickle and dime me for a bag

The associate in the store helped me find what I was looking for. She was very nice and extremely helpful to me. Sorry, I don't remember her name but she was also the one that checked me out after I was done shopping.
