Wonderful place, my stylist Oliver was very lovely and fun to talk to. I have had bad experiences with stylists in the past so I get nervous going to a new one but this place was wonderful, relaxing and cozy. All workers were extremely friendly. I got exactly what I was looking for and they even gave me tips on doing at home upkeep. Will 100% be coming back!

I went in feeling pretty defeated as I'm suffering a lot of hair thinning so when Oliver asked me what I was looking to get my only answer was to help hide the thinning and I have to say she did a great job! Will definitely be going back.

Charlie did a wonderful job with my haircut! He cut some face frames, made it the length I wanted and blow-dried & added some beach waves. I was very happy with the results and would recommend him to anyone, as he knows how to make your hair look fashionable and sophisticated.

Christina is a miracle worker! I can’t fully express how grateful I am to have found her and Oliver! Two months ago I went to a different salon and left feeling so insecure about my hair. That stylist had taken me so much darker than I wanted to be. I was worried I’d never get back to the bright orange that had been my goal. My confidence was at an all time low. I stopped wearing my hair down and just started counting the days until I could get it colored again. Christina EXCEEDED my expectations. I never thought I could get this bright again. Plus my hair still feels so healthy and smooth even after the lightening process. I’ve never felt so confident and have gotten so many compliments already. I’m also usually very quiet and not a big talker. But sitting in Christina’s chair I felt so comfortable. Christina and Oliver made me feel like I was an old friend. They were both so warm and kind. I highly recommend trusting Christina and Oliver with your hair. They both truly care about the whole experience and went above and beyond for me! Thank you so much Christina and Oliver! This picture does not do my color justice, it’s so dynamic with the different colors but I just wanted to show how bright they got me!

Amanda is amazing! She pulled my hair out of the gutter. It was looking flat and sad and she added dimension with color without making my hair look 'colored.' She gives me styling tips and respects the fact that I need a super easy style.

Had an awesome experience with Kai! I came in for partial highlights and Kai took the time to make sure my hair turned out perfect both color wise and haircut wise. I love the way it looks and highly recommend this place and Kai!

I've been going to Salon One Six One for over 10 years. It's a quiet, relaxing atmosphere with ownership that truly cares about client experience. My stylist always prioritizes the health of my hair, even if it means talking me out of additional services and I value that relationship so much.

I’ve gotten my hair colored, cut, & styled here twice and have had great experiences! The salon is super nice, clean, and stylish. Since moving to STL, I’ve been in search of a salon that is affordable, easily accessible, and provides good service. Lillian has done my hair both times and I’ve been very satisfied! She’s brought my inspo photos to life and is super sweet. Very conversational and complimentary. I’m not the biggest socializer and she respects that! Easily able to set up an appointment online without the phone calls and scheduling struggles. Happy to have found the place!

Really terrible. Please avoid. charged 50$ for a haircut that was no better than the typical 15$ cut at great clips or one of those chains. No method to the cut, just random grabbing of the hair and running scissors through. Do yourself a favor, and please avoid. No bueno.

Beautiful light filled space with Aveda products! Kelsey has done such a great job at keeping my fine baby hair healthy and strong. Highly recommend this salon!

Lillian was amazing!! It’s my first haircut in YEARS and she did an awesome job talking me through the cut I wanted! Amazing conversation, too! I will definitely be back :)

I was nervous to get my hair done at a new salon after moving to St. Louis. I researched some salons across the city and chose Salon 1-6-1. My appointment was with Christina, and she did an amazing job fixing me up again after not having my hair done for 7 months. She did a full highlight and a cut. The way she cut my hair is exactly how I wanted it to look. The salon is cute and clean as well.

I’m new to the STL area and heard about the Salon One Six One through a friend. I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back! Christina did a FANTASTIC job on my all over color!! She was very knowledgeable and super friendly.
