Brought my car in for a quote on a service that I had to drop my car off and leave overnight. Somehow they drove my vehicle and said that the car started smelling of coolant and turned around immediately... How'd you not inspect the car before driving to see if there was a leak in the first place? Kind of funny how I didn't have any leaks when I brought it in but during your possession my car was now undrivable unless I paid them to change the hoses which again, completely unrelated to what I brought my vehicle in for. Very suspicious. So I had my car towed elsewhere for repairs. The quote I received for the diagnostics for the original request and the surprise issue were the highest quotes I received from anyone else in the area. I do NOT recommend.

I brought in my 2020 Volkswagen Jetta to have the air conditioner repaired. I was able to schedule an appointment ahead of time and put my keys in the drop box the night before the appointment. I then had to wait 1 full week for the work to take place. Once the work began - I was told the AC service ports were broken and I had to pay for replacement of the service ports. My vehicle was manufactured in 2020 and has never had the AC service ports touched. I still paid for all parts and labor including the service ports damaged by the Steger technician. I also paid for an AC refrigerant recharge. After Steger work was complete, the AC seemed to be working. Then about a month after Steger claimed to have fixed the issue, the AC stopped working.

Had a starting problem on 2017 edge had it towed to steger because they accept carshield even if car shield did not pay for most of the part labor it was still in my range to cover. They where quick in fixing my starter also I never had any shop top off my windshield fluid never but they did in my book that's a plus FIVE STARS

Another great experience at Steger. I had a steering issue and when I met with Dave to show him, he explained what he thought the issue was and what would need to be done. The next day after I dropped it off, he called and explained the pricing before doing the work, and answered the questions I had. They were able to complete the work by the time I needed it and Amber even asked if I had AAA to get a repair discount! The staff is friendly and on point and I trust them with my car and money.

Made an appointment at Steger Service for an oil change.
Quick and fair service. The service writer Dave Hulshoff was extremely helpful.
I was in and out before you knew it.
If/when I need additional services I’m going to Steger, Thanks Dave

Everybody was really nice but ultimately they did not make much headway in diagnosing or repairing my car. After a basic $45 evaluation of the AC, problem of no cold air was confirmed, and the compressor not turning on, which probably takes under 5 minutes. But as far as anyone could tell they didn’t check the refrigerant and didn’t check the fuses or relays, to see if those might have caused the failure, didn’t check the OBD for clues. I get, for that price you’re buying 15-20 minutes of tech time, but seems like just easy, fast things might have been done. Way forward was also murky, please approve another $400 of diagnostic time. Really could have used an estimate of say, “if it is just the compressor then buying and installing that part while we’re in there will add $300, plus we’d suggest replacing X resistor for $50 at the same time, and a recharge for $100” or whatever. As we have a limited budget for an older car. So overall a disappointment for a spot which had merged the old Knight AC experts into it.

To Chris Steger: Tell your policy about putting belts back on to Amber, who told me my car couldn't be repaired that day and I would need a replacement belt bought from you. My review is very on base, because this was my interaction with her. I called ahead of time to make sure this repair could be completed, but she let me know there were no guarantees of putting the serpentine belt back on that day, leaving me to scramble to find alternate transportation and a hotel room. Just because she has kids and has had a job for many years doesn't mean she wasn't rude and uncompromising to me. Thanks!
While traveling out of town, my serpentine belt slipped off the engine. It was a simple fix—just needed to be looped back on—but I lacked the tools and had to call AAA for a tow. The nearest AAA-affiliated repair shop was this location, so I called ahead to give them a heads-up. I spoke with Amber, who was immediately dismissive and unhelpful.
Despite explaining that I was from out of town and that this was a quick five-minute job, Amber insisted they wouldn’t look at the car until the next day. She also said they wouldn’t use the perfectly good belt I had and would require me to buy a new one from them at a markup. Add in unnecessary labor charges and I was looking at $500+ for a job that takes five minutes—plus a night in a hotel waiting for the “repair.”
Luckily, the tow truck driver saw what was happening and confirmed this shop is known for being difficult. He offered to help and had the belt back on in under five minutes. Problem solved—no thanks to this shop.
Amber was rude, unaccommodating, and seemed more focused on price gouging than helping a stranded traveler. I would never recommend this location to anyone, especially if you’re in a tight spot and need honest help.

Steger did a great job inspecting our car (for plates) and then recommending a few services that would benefit our vehicle. They were “no-pressure, but we thought you would like to know,” which we appreciated, as we knew we had let slip a few maintenance items. Our car now runs smoothly, and we have a secure peace of mind about driving it around town and on longer trips.
My husband and I highly recommend Steger Automotive for its excellent service and honesty!

GREAT SERVICE! i called and explained, that timing belt broke, and was told I would need a new engine. They were quick to get us in so they could check it out. A long story short, no new engine. They called and told us what we would need done. The cost was very reasonable. And for a 2008 kia it's back on the road again! Thank you to Hope for everything you did. And David for fixing the car! Best service and honest company. I highly recommend!

Not trust worthy.. so, I decided to try these guys, and when I first talked to them they seemed really nice, they did there little inspection of my car, I needed a new air shock, I knew that, they said they were going to use a genuine Mercedes shock, I later found out they used an after market shock and probably marked it up by 90%, way to expensive.. and labor was way to much too.. they said I needed rear brakes too, I said I’ll do it myself, save myself some money, so when I got the wheel off and went to take the caliper off, I found that one the screws or bolts whatever you want to call them, they hold the caliper on, were striped, one on each rear caliper..by the way, it’s been 8 months since they inspected it and I haven’t changed the brakes, they are still good..I’m glad because of the striped screws on the calipers, the calipers are next to impossible to get off.. at least by me..I’ll never recommend this place..
