As someone who used to live in U City for a long time, and still owns a house there, I think the Loop is the most unique "downtown" spot in St. Louis. Maybe it's the fact it's not built around a bar scene, maybe it's all the diverse foods you can find on one strip, or maybe it's all the cool venues and activities they have, but we always find something to get into here. It's the best.

The Delmar Loop streets are full of art, food, and culture. It's a popular hang for the young and young at heart. Located just outside of the Washington University campus it's one of my sons fave places to hang as a college student. In the 1950s, the Loop began to decline as the streetcar system was dismantled. However, the Loop experienced a resurgence in the 1970s and 1980s, as a number of new businesses and restaurants opened along the street. Today the trolly has returned and it's a vibrant area of University City neighborhood of Saint Louis to live and recreate. The Loop's revitalization was due in part to the efforts of local residents and businesses, who worked to make the Loop a more attractive, warm, and welcoming place as it is today. From its eclectic shops and restaurants to its lively music and theater scene, there's always something to explore. Some of my sons favorites are Salt + Smoke, Fritz & visiting school friends that reside off campus. So whether you're looking for a delicious meal, a trendy place to stay, a fun night of music & karaoke, or possibly a bit of shopping. You are sure to find it on The Loop.

There are so many shops and restaurants here. Every time I have someone visiting from out of town, I take them to the loop. They have the star walk of fame which is super cool and unique. It is very popular in the summer. We came here during the winter and it was pretty dead and a lot of the shops and restaurants were closed.

The Loop has lost everything that helped bring it back from the edge. There are more weed dispensaries than any other type of business. FroYo, Rocket Fizz, Ben and Jerry's...all gone. For an agency ( University City) and a public institution (WUSTL) that emphasizes community, there is literally nothing to do unless you want to get high and curb the munchies! I guess they figure families can go somewhere else for an afternoon. Their choices are alienating a generation of individuals that could have continued to revitalize, strengthen, solidify and continue the March towards diversity that the Loop has become known for! Instead, business' are being pushed out do to massive increases in rent and instead of a destination spot, it is becoming a "look from afar" location.

Not everything was open. Great place to window shop. There’s a trolley, not sure if it’s disabled due to covid. The trolley just travel up and down the Loop. Stop by Corner 17 or Kung Fu Tea and get some boba drink or milk tea . There’s an Asian grocery store! The vegetables are fresh! One of the best well stocked Asian grocery store! They have a large selection of instance noodles.

Exploring the Loop is always a good time. I used to live close enough to walk to it and that was a joy. Lots of fun restaurants, bars, and shops. If you need to find a gift for someone, the Loop is definitely a great shopping area to start. The businesses are unique and fun-spirited.

A nice place to eat. You feel safe and the trolley bring back the old cars to show the kids and reminds you of the past in st Louis
