Today when purchasing from this gas station I set my items on the counter. The scanner next to the register caught one of my items and rang up for $3.89. The cashier quickly cleared this item and replaced it with “GROCERY” $4.99. When confronted about why the scanned price wasn’t used I received a confused look from the cashier. Reluctantly he removed one of the “GROCERY” charges and then scanned the item which came up as the original $3.89. I had other items in my pile that he had marked with the $4.99 as well as a $2.59 “GROCERY” charge for my drink. I do not believe either of these items were the price he had marked them as. However not wanting to argue anymore I just paid my bill and bit my lip. I believe this was an attempt to Nickle and Dime customers. Being in a college town and seeing many struggling people coming in and out of the gas station during the times I have given this place my business. I hope these individuals are not being taken advantage of as I felt I was today, in my concern I felt I must leave a review.

Just had a really weird incident with the cashier here, went in for a box of milk duds and paid $2.69 — He asked me if that’s all I was getting, I said yes. I was just craving them really badly and it’s 11pm.
I happened to double glance at the screen after paying and he rang it up as “lottery” which was really weird. He didn’t scan the candy, just hit a button on the register. When I made mention, he kind of froze then said it was his mistake. So I stared at him waiting to see if he’d correct it or something, if maybe I over or under paid? and he just said he hit that instead of grocery on accident.
He didn’t offer me a receipt so I wound up just leaving.
I don’t know if that’s how much it costs or not, it’s not even a lot of money — it was just very suspicious and kind of a weird interaction. I just suggest paying attention to the screen when you’re being rung up there.
