“Sunday night, August 16 myself, my granddaughter, her mother, my 2 adult grandsons and 4 of my great grandchildren, ages 5 and under went to the show. We came from Leasburg, My 2 grandsons went to see Spiderman and the rest of us went to see Pawpatrol. When our show was over and we were walking out the door of the theater the tornado siren went off. We tried to get back inside because the Spiderman show was not over with but it was the end of their showings and the door locked on our way out and they would not let us back in. Mind you we have 4 frightened, crying children. Not knowing when this was going to hit we needed to get somewhere safe. I saw your Planet Fitness and I knew they would be open, hoping they would let us hang out there. Upon entering we met up with Amelia. She was wonderful. She allowed us to take the children into the bathroom where we hung out in a dressing room and was able to get our children calmed down. I bought water for them but then we also needed something a little more personal for my granddaughter. She informed me that she had it in her car and she would get it for me. She also continued to check the weather conditions and kept us informed of the situation. Soon the Spiderman movie ended and my grandsons came in. Then it started raining, lightening and thunder. Because my grandsons were there we stayed in the front lobby. Again Amelia stepped up and talked with the kiddos. She was wonderful. At 10pm we felt it safe to drive back to Leasburg because the rain had slowed quite alot. On out way out she told us to stay safe. I thanked her but I wish I could of done more. She was our angel. You got a good one in her.”
