This little shop on Cherokee Street is adorable and filled with beautiful plants and garden supplies. They also have a cut flower section and arrangements, too! They are very friendly and so helpful! Plants are WELL taken care care of & are on par for quality with places such as the Botanical Gardens.The nursery is a fountain of inspiration. “I had been to 3 nurseries looking for Fire Chief arborvitae and burgundy barberry that can handle part shade. I struck out everywhere until I came to Sherwood's Forest. Within 5 min I had a full cart and am thrilled with my purchases. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. Update: I've been back twice today already and came home with 3 trees I'm really excited about finding (and totally missed yesterday). I haven't seen this tree at any other nursery, even substantially larger ones I've visited recently. Sherwood's Forest will be my first stop from now on because of the unique varieties they carry!”

“To call Boxwood Farms a nursery is to undersell this business. To call it a contemporary high end garden store would be a better description. Very tasteful pots, outdoor decorations as well as a good selection of exotic and outdoor plants would be more accurate. We did not try the restaurant which looks like it could be good.”

Scott is very knowledgeable about landscaping and how to use different plants to create the look we wanted. The installation crew is very friendly, courteous and knowable about how to care for the plants. They cleaned up our yard, driveway and street of all debris. They carry quality plants and stand behind their warranty.”

“This is my favorite nursery in the city! The down to earth customer service can’t be beat. I’m a 1st time home owner & I had big dreams for beautifying my from yard. I purchased an Etsy garden plan & took it up to Hartke to gather my plants. Eloise & Don (dynamic duo) took some time with me. Eloise designed placement & Don had the knowledge of every plant. After 2 weeks I got it done. It was hard work but so satisfying.”

“My new favorite moment of zen! This nursery/ gift boutique is truly an enchanting escape. The shop is gorgeously filled with unique gifts and a huge assortment of decorative pottery. It is an actual experience exploring the unique array of both indoor and outdoor plants guided by a welcoming and knowledgeable staff. I went in looking for a specific elusive succulent called an epiphyllum curly sue or an orchid cactus. She was able to find it at the farm and got it to me the same day! I may actually have to resist becoming a regular visitor unless I intend to build a greenhouse in my yard. The owners passion is contagious! Highly recommend adding this stop to your list for your next day off.”

“This place is insanely well run. The sales folks on the phone or at the counter are nice as can be. Their pricing is incredibly fair for the product they offer. Their delivery drivers are polite, well spoken and actually show up when they say they will. I mean even their restrooms and entire facility are the nicest out of any of my vendors. I hands down recommend this place to anyone looking for incredible topsoil or and mulch product.”

“This is quite a delayed review- but better late than never. :) My mom really wanted some hanging plants for Mother's Day. I always drive by Colors of Spring and notice the beautiful plants outside (when they're open). We went together to pick them out, and loved the different varieties that they offered. We parked on Fyler for street parking, and walked in the back. Lots of different areas to look and choose from. I'm the furthest from a plant pro, so I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly what I saw. However; they looked well taken care of and of good quality. There were also a large variety on the outside of the front of the shop on Watson. We found a couple we liked to check out and the staff member working explained to my mom how to properly take care of her choices- water amount, sunlight amount. It was a quick and easy experience, I would definitely go back to find more in the future!”

“This location was packed last week for the end of April... but they had beautiful flowers and a wide assortment of mulch. I prefer to go to the smaller floral shops for actual plants, but I needed to come here for peat moss that they didn't carry elsewhere. Although it was busy the self check out went relatively quick. Overall pleased with the experience.”
