I have been coming to this Salon for years. The stylist who has been doing my hair was late so I texted him and he apologized and came. However, as I waited, the 3 other stylists present never once asked if they could help me in some way, or even acknowledged me by saying hello. I expected more courteous behavior and am disappointed by this lack of courtesy. I sat an hour waiting.

Weirdest experience I've ever had at a salon. Went to the owner, Julie a few times over about a year or 14 months. Her work was just adequate (I have long, thick, color treated hair), she never did anything super special or top notch. I went there first because I had a Groupon and I should've paid attention to the first red flags. She seemed resentful of the Groupon, and super cagey about her prices. After the first visit, I asked what her normal rate would be for the services, she hemmed and hawed, and then finally decided what she'd charge me. I thought it was on the high end, but I was ok with it and told her that was fine with me. Each time I was there, she was super flaky, talking about "speaking to my hair," "feeling its energy" and other such woo-woo nonsense. Each time I left though (despite her weirdness) I was satisfied with my hair (never blown away, as I found her to be pretty average in her skills), and paid her what she charged me, and also tipped her between 15% and 20% (even though she is the owner). I never complained about the cut or color, never asked her to redo anything. Then, when I had an appointment coming up the following week, I got a random email from her asking me not to come back, and telling me I should not be her client anymore. When I asked why, she had some bizarre excuses about "not compromising her artistic integrity," or some other mumbo jumbo. What I interpreted all that as was 1) I never bought any of her products that she was always pushing and 2) she wanted to make room for a client she thought she could charge more to (though could have just told me she was raising her prices and given me the choice to stay or go). I was left baffled by her weirdness and lack of professionalism. She always came across as having too high of an opinion of herself and her work anyway. Maybe she only wants clients that kiss her a** and buy every product she recommends, so if you're not like that, this is probably not the salon or the stylist for you.
