I have been with Tri-County Insurance for years now. The reason I am posting this review is I happen to be online and was looking up their phone number (didn't feel like going to my file cabinet to find the paperwork...lol). I noticed there was a 1-star rating. After reading the review, I had to post my opinion. In the review I noticed the person said their policy didn't cover their loss. I have known other people who just didn't either read their policy or ask questions about a policy. How do you NOT KNOW what your policy covers?I even know someone who told me that they just ask what is the cheapest price when they went to get insurance. They didn't have a clue what was covered, just wanted cheap even when they could more than enough afford more/a better policy. It just boggles my mind. How do buy something as important as insurance for your home, car or anything important that you want to protect with insurance without asking questions or reading your policy? This isn't buying a candy bar, this is protecting your investments/major purchases, etc!You need to take the time to know what is and how you are being protected.Everyone at Tri-County insurance has always been professional and courteous to me.Anytime I had a question or concern they have gone above and beyond to help me.But I ALWAYS ask questions/research anything I buy that is as important as homeowners/car insurance. I know my polices, I read them and anything I don't fully understand, I ask questions.Allied, now Nationwide, has been the best insurance provider I have ever had protecting my home/car. The agents were always friendly and courteous. They always made sure I was paid well enough to cover any repairs. Again, you have to have the right policy to protect your investments since there are different policiesI have dealt with other insurance companies that were just downright rude and tried to tell me no but because I KNEW MY POLICY, they coveredthe repairs.Tri-County Insurance Agency is very professional and friendly. They have ALWAYS taken the time to help me out with my policies.I had switched to them years ago and they saved me ALOT of money compared to the previous agency I was with.Because of the great service I have received from both Nationwide and Tri-County Insurance, I have recommended them to several people and they have always been so surprised how much less they have to pay for more coverage!Once such person had switched only to have severe wind damage a couple of months later. They LOVE the fact they switched because of the recommendation. If they had kept their old policy they would have lost thousands because their old policy only covered 1/4 of the damage. This is YOUR home/car/investments, you should be invested enough to take the time to know how they are being protected.

We had a huge hail storm. The following day my agent contacted me and suggested I have a roofer come review my house for damage. They are always thinking of their customers and willing to assist me!

My family has years of dealing with Don there at Tri County. We've had policies for our home, myself, wife, and 2 kids.. no problems until we needed to make a claim... took a total loss on some of our property because the wrong policy was purchased.. spoke to a couple of other brokers, and was told by each that it was the broker at TriCounty's fault.. there should have been a list of questions asked to make sure the policy was the correct one.. called back to TriCounty and was told that it was unfortunate but beyond them.. Im a middle class working man and have to deal with a loss worth thousands of dollars... it's a huge hit for us. I feel like the folks at Tri County are either poorly schooled, or are scamming family's by just pumping out policy' s to get a Commission. I have since dropped my insurance coverage with them, and are using Dewitt insurance now. I just wanted to put my experience with them out their to hopefully spare someone the same headache.*UpdateAfter working online today, I noticed that another review was posted by a "client" of this business. This person left a 5 star review of the business and specifically calls out my review and experience with this company... I want to point out this petty retaliation as another reason to NOT use this company. Totally unprofessional to try and bump up the business rating with a fake review, slander a 10+ year client and not except constructive criticism for the actions of their reps. I've moved on, but this ridiculous post had to be called out. *Public Reader- Choose wisely who you hire to handle the protection of your property and loved ones.. And this ISN'T the place I'd recommend using folks..
