Thronson's General Store, established in 1924, is a nostalgic, tidy, and genial stop right outside Glacier National Park. It is an actual general store with a huge variety of things, from soup to nuts. It offers a little bit of nearly everything, including real fresh food like meats, fresh whole milk, and quality produce for cooking meals, alongside an assortment of sundries, camping supplies, canned goods, home goods, and ice cream. It is well worth a stop for travelers between Glacier and Waterton Lakes, even just to admire the vintage decor and memorabilia or browse the new-to-you section. The service is very friendly, helpful, and genial, with reasonable prices. Attached to the store is a motel, noted for being very clean, updated, and offering a quality stay with recently remodeled rooms. A small but good cafe is located across the street. The store is open daily from 7am to 9pm.
It's adequate for the location as far as what you can find here, but it has reasonable prices and great service.

Little general store that has a little bit of everything you might need...plus fresh, hot, coffee.
August 2025
A little bit of everything as one would expect from a 'General Store'. The prices, while a bit high, were more reasonable than what you find in St. Mary.
