This is the best family vacation experience, ever! Authentic western hospitality combined with the most beautiful setting. Flathead Lake Lodge allowed our kids to experience so many new adventures with horses, fishing, mountain biking, boating, and much more. Their staff is incredible!!! Look no further an unforgettable summer experience with the family!

This place does the job, I can't bash it nor can I praise it . The most important thing or question is ( ready ) ? " Would I stay here again " ? Drum Roll please :

Beautiful location. Horses appear to be well taken care of. Pool heater not working. Lake was 5 feet below normal so no sloop ride. Fun firetruck ride. Friendly staff because you pay them a 20% tip automatically. They were not all well informed. Asked many questions. Got several, "not sure" answers. Not enough food for the $. The multitude of flies inside the buildings were annoying especially with the food sitting out before dinner. Very noisy at dinner.

Our cabin and main lodge had lot of flies. The sleeping experience was not nice. Place is beautiful. Dinners had very small portions for the cost except for the steak fry. Very noisy in main dining room. No soft drinks unless walking up to the crowded small bar. You would think if there were issues with service , food or anything that affected your stay a bill correction would be in order. None was talked about or given. We will not be back

I'm still on cloud 9 from my visit so I think now is the perfect time to write this review. We opted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's.Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

The grounds and property were beautiful. We had a cabin that was loaded with flies. We got rid of what we could it was not a good experience. The sit down dinners except for the steak fry were small in portion. The activity lists and sign up were way lacking in details. The distances, where you meet, and the duration of the activity should be stated to help in decisions. The staff in the office we thought should have some answers about the activities. The cost of the stay did not equal the low points of our stay

Great place to take the family. Beautiful weather and tons of stuff to do. The kids make friends and have lots of independence. The food is very good also. Activities include boating, horseback riding, shooting, biking, archery, etc. And my favorite is swimming in the lake, which stays in the low 70s through the summer.

My family was flown out for week of Hope. Our first night there my husband was in an accident due to NO LIGHTING on the path. He spent 2 days in ICU and is still facing surgery and unable to work. The lodge refused to open an insurance claim. We are looking for a lawyer to assist us but most lawyers in Montana are affiliated with this ranch in some capacity creating conflict of interest. The Montana Bar Association is assisting us at this point. I do not recommend this place as they do NOT care about you beyond publicity and payment.

Awesome place for families, so many things to do. Horse back riding, sailing, fishing, water skiing, wake surfing, wake boarding, kayaking, and canoeing. Archery, shot gun shooting, and mountain biking. All the great food you can eat. Incredible friendly staff.

Summary: Spend a week out here, you will have the time of your life. This place is like no other. I am not exaggerating, Flathead Lake Lodge is legitimately the most "feel-good" place you can be. It cannot be put into words. A week at the lodge is an experience that can't be found anywhere else. No matter your age, there will be activities for you. You don't have to worry about meals, transportation, or planning your days. At any point in the day you can sit outside and see kids laughing on their bicycles, see families eating together, folks swimming in the lake, and the team of dedicated people working hard to keep this place running. It really is pretty close toheaven.Thank you, Mr. Averill, you have created something truly special in every way.

This place is incredible. We had to wait two years on the waiting list to get in, but it was worth it. Complimentary laundry, complimentary alcoholic drinks, incredible location and view on Flathead Lake with canoes, paddle boards, sailboats, water skiing, hiking, biking (so many bikes to choose from) and a dude ranch. The only flaw is the event sign-up at 7:30AM on Monday. This is exactly like the Oklahoma Sooner land rush where settlers were told they could get free land on April 22, 1889, but sure enough much of the prime land was already occupied. Hence the name, Oklahoma Sooners. Similarly, we arrived at 7:30AM to sign up for much anticipated water skiing and other events. I really wanted to teach the kids to water ski this week. Unfortunately, all the slots were already taken. But Flathead Lake Lodge does such an incredible job with the consumer service, they made sure that our family was able to water ski several times during the week. Internet speed: 26 Mbps download, 10Mbps upload. The beds are incredibly comfortable. So many chairs facing the lake in the shade of a tree. Pure serenity. The customer service is amazing here. The founding family still works here and the CEO was cooking the steaks on the Steak Fry day. It is amazing how they have been able to get all their employees to buy in and care. I loved this place. Serenity on the lake + water ski + dude ranch + sailing + pool + incredible service makes this one of the best places on earth.

A true Paradise! Amazing customer service and attention to detail. Great food, unique activities and breathtaking grounds and views. My family and I experienced the best vacation of our lives here. We were blessed to be part of the Week of Hope and could not stress enough how amazing the family and staff of Flathead Lake are. It is a truly empowering and family-oriented environment. It is our goal in life to come back someday!!! HIGHLY recommend
