I don’t leave very many reviews unless something just really stands out good or bad BUT Billings is the only airport I fly into that has overbooked twice in the last 60 days. Wait times to get a vehicle that was “reserved” took over 2 hours. Even with exec elite status it does nothing. The only explanation was “we have a situation here and you can either wait for a car or try for one tomorrow that is not guaranteed”..I am hopeful they can find someone that can manage this branch efficiently.

The van they gave is junk. It's so old there isn't even a usb spot to plug our phone in to play music from. Very poorly equipped - about the lowest trim. I wish we had rented from a different company.

The number goes straight to voicemail every time you try calling. Rented a car for a week while my vehicle was in the shop. Had tried contacting them about an emergency with the rental after hitting a deer on the highway but was not able to get ahold of them. So I called the national customer service line and reported the incident and they said they would contact the branch themselves about it. Now they're trying to charge me extra because of that ( not including the deductible I had to pay to get it fixed). Don't rent from them. Complete ripoff.

I had my car booked over 3 weeks in advance and was through work. It was known my flight got in at midnight. There was a sign that said the person at the counter was "moving cars" and to call a posted number. Both the posted number and the number on my booking called and went to voicemail. Stranded for 40 min until we gave up and called an Uber. Uber driver says they do this and actually leave early although knowingly there are customers. Pathetic and angry

Never any trouble renting from National. They are sometimes understaffed with one person running the Alamo, and Enterprise counter as well. But always top notch service! They are also generous with their upgrades. Dont miss out!!

This is the story of how this National Car Rental in Billings ruined my trip, made me late, and forced me to spend hundreds of dollars in an stressful and inefficient manner, so that it does not also ruin your trip, make you late, and force you to spend hundreds of dollars in a stressful and inefficient way.If you'd like to:- hear the tail end of the young male desk agent give away said rental car that you'd reserved two months before to two college girls twirling their hair- have the National desk agent pretend that it was justifiable because your reservation was for 9 AM and he gave the car away at 9:28 AM(even though this is not their policy, even at airports)- tell you there are no cars until the next day- have to find an emergency one way tour bus shuttle for hundreds of dollars and then have to spend hundreds of dollars to get back in time- be late for an event you had carefully planned forThen the Billings, Montana National Car Rental is for you.If you'd like to actually receive a rental car you booked two months beforehand go to the Hertz desk right next to this one. Their staff went out of the way to help with the chaos the National agent created.

Would have been a 4-star review except National overcharged me by $200+. My reservation was for ~$700/week. I showed up at 3:15pm instead of 6:00pm (my reserved time) because United canceled our later flight and put us on an earlier flight. The National agent disregarded my reservation and booked an update that resulted in a $200 up-charge. That's a pretty steep rate for 2.5 hours.After a phone call, all was fixed, but should this have happened in the first place. BTW - other reason for 2-star review is that the agent was not particularly welcoming. "Brusk" would be a good adjective to describe her demeanor.Please do better National.

Easy pick up and drop off. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is it's the first car I've rented without a snow brush and scraper.

I am a frequent flyer and almost always rent car on my trips. This was by far the worst car I have ever rented. For starters the car had about 50,000 miles which in my experience, is a lot for a rental. I had a lot of driving planned for this trip so I made sure the car had car play. It did but it only worked intermittently, but worst of all the cruise control did not work. When I picked up the car in the evening, the maintenance minder was on telling me that a oil change was due, every time I started the car I had to go through the steps to dismiss the message. I doubt I will be renting another car from National.

Excellent, Customer service was upgraded for some price because I was driving through the mountains in Montana. Customer service agent advice about wildlife was greatly appreciated. Thank You. And right on.

When you call for assistance you get the Phillipines. My experience was they were no help. There are no local numbers available so you are forced to speak with Phillipjnes. Hertz offers local numbers for location where you rent car. Also when I asked about the mileage charge i was told it is tiny print on the web page. I wasn't aware of the mileage charge. Majority of personnel at local sites are very nice to deal with once you get to them.
