What a gem we stumbled upon! The food was outstanding! The atmosphere was great! The owner/chef brought the appetizer to the table and asked if there was anything special she could make for my 5 year old. I told her he was a picky eater and really only eats peanut butter and fruit. The next thing I knew she brought him some cut up pears and peanut butter! So sweet! She also brought the kids chocolate chip cookies and milk after our meal! The staff truly made us feel special! Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Was just Ok. We went with high expectations as we had heard great things. Possible we caught them on an off night. Meatballs were really good. Everything else was average at best. And not worth the price tag. Food service was very slow even though the restaurant was about 25% full. Drinks were prompt.

Tiny TINY portions of tasteless beef tar-tar in giant mint leafs was a bust. Steak was mediocre and tough. I cannot fathom why this place is reviewed so highly on google. I suspect some quite active management of their google profile.

Delicious food that's locally sourced. Having arrived at 4, we had a room all to ourselves. We enjoyed the in-house made bread, good drinks, and a menu that appeals to a variety of tastes.

The service is exemplary, but the food is very medicore and over priced. Much better food is available downtown. You might go for a drink or specials, but that is all I recommend.

What an unbelievably delightful experience I had here! We were lucky to get seated without reservations, though I recommend them. The food was dynamic, balanced, and fantastically well prepared. I honestly can't recommend it highly enough! Everything we ate was amazing, and we shared many dishes, at least four or five. You will not be disappointed!Dietary restrictions: I am a Celiac and allergic to, dairy, tree nuts, and nightshades. It was no problem. They even explained the ways the food was prepared to avoid any potential cross-contamination and put my mind at ease so I could relax and enjoy the evening without hesitation. It was the most wonderful dining experience!Parking: Depending on how far you're willing and able to go after parking then it is abundant, unless it's a busy night downtown. There is street parking, a free lot about a block away, and a free parking garage about two blocks away.

What an impressive display! This team embodies sheer talent, consistently introducing fresh and exhilarating options. Picture an executive cigar room ambiance, complemented by world-class cocktails and a food menu so enticing it leaves you pondering over each delectable choice. The team has meticulously cultivated an authentic atmosphere rooted in Western inspirations and Bozeman-esque culture. They pay homage to the origins and individuals who shaped our town with great care and respect. It's hard to imagine a better spot to savor a meticulously crafted cocktail by candlelight or indulge in a smash burger at 1 AM on a weeknight. My wife and I have frequented this establishment countless times, cheering for their well-deserved success since our inaugural visit. From their early weeks to Valentine's Day, their recent 10-month anniversary (congratulations, Team!), each visit presents something new to explore. Amidst the intuitively prepared libations and dishes, there's always a delightful surprise waiting to be discovered. This venue welcomes both seasoned local industry veterans and notable celebrities alike, blending seamlessly into its dark and familiar corners. While this review may be long overdue, the recognition they receive is well-deserved and then some. This team stands shoulder to shoulder with the best in the business, allowing hospitality and flawless execution to speak volumes while maintaining the essence of exceptional service throughout.Bravo to the entire team! Thank you for exemplifying the true spirit of the industry, a true "love of the game".

We popped into 1864 tonight for dinner and I asked the kids what they wanted to eat, they immediately responded with "burgers and chocolate milk"... typical kid response. We opened the menu and not surprisingly no burgers or chocolate milk could be found. Luke, our waiter, came by and said he had milk, cocoa powder and sugar in the back and if we gave him a minute he would personally hand make them for us... What? I was floored. Most places would've simply said sorry don't have it... Luke went the extra mile to put a smile on my kids faces. The kids were so happy! Then, Allison, the owner personally brought out two perfectly cooked burgers (again not on the menu) to complete the perfect night! At what restaurant does the owner personally hand deliver dinner that wasn't even on the menu. I was honestly speechless. Most people in the restaurant were dressed in a button down or a nice dress. I came in with sweat pants and 3 small children. Didn't matter. No judgement, just top notch service all around. Blake and Allison are doing it right and we are so happy we stopped in. Please come in and see these guys for a meal, unbelievable.

Great atmosphere, and the food is improving. Cocktails are good but are hit or miss on taste profiles. If the food improves we will keep returning but each time we have been, it's just not quite there yet. We hope the tar tar can be not rolled up in lettuce?

Came for valentines day. Wanted to try a new spot. Seafood soup was warm at best. We had to eat it really quick before it became cold. It did have a good portion of seafood. The beef tartar was portioned absolutely ridiculously. Small is an understatement. It was wrapped in a mint leaf I believe. Which because of the ratio between the tartar and the mint leaf you couldn't taste the beef itself at all. The entree was a deer filet. I know deer is tougher but this was almost inedible. It was the toughest serving of deer I've ever had. On top of that it was COVERED in peppercorns that completely took over any taste of meet there may have been. My partner got the squid ink risotto and it was overcooked. It had all become one consistency which was mushy. Service was OK. Server was very nice but at the end it took 15 minutes to recieve our check and boxes. The mocktails we ordered were tasty and made well. Thats the only thing that I can say in a postiive regard towards our meal at 1861. Will not be returning.
