Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I’d have had my car towed to Missoula. I’ve purchased 5 new Volkswagen vehicles in recent years and have always had them serviced according to manufacturer recommendations. Everywhere else I’ve encountered transparency, competency, integrity, good communication and professionalism. Then I made the soul crushing mistake of attempting to do business with Volkswagen of Bozeman. Upon diagnosis I was told I needed to replace injectors. Diagnostics, labor and parts would be expensive, so I confirmed twice that I could use the Volkswagen Drive Card - a card I’d used at Volkswagen dealerships in Missoula and Seattle many times, and I was assured that would be “no problem”. I have no other way to pay the substantial bill, and it turns out that either VW Bozemsn’s staff is too incompetent to know how to use the card, or they don’t accept it despite their assurances otherwise. I’ve been passed from person to person, been treated like an idiot, talked to like a child, and flat ignored while I sat waiting in the service area before finally just walking out. My car is held hostage and still not fixed because their initial diagnosis was wrong and the car still won’t run. After doing $2,300.00 in unnecessary misdiagnosed work, they wanted me to spend over $4,000.00 more just to confirm what they now think is probably wrong with the car. No way. I agreed to pay the cost of the injectors, I’ve never disputed that. VW Bozeman told me I could pay with my VW Service card and is now unable or not willing to accept the agreed upon form of payment. They are in breech of contract and nobody there has stepped up to resolve the issue.
In 33 years of driving, servicing over a dozen different vehicles in five states and two continents, and driving nearly 1 million miles, I’ve never encountered such a terrible automotive business, nor have I encountered a less helpful ore more smug and incompetent staff.
Save yourself a major headache and go elsewhere.

Had a 9AM appointment for an oil/filter change, fuel filter change and tire rotation. Was told that it would not be done before 1PM. I protested saying I had an appointment for routine maintenance items. The finally agreed to have it ready by 11AM. It was ready by 1030AM. Total cost was $340+, which is almost double what these services cost at my VW dealer at home. I will not return to VW Bozeman.
