Sharing my disappointment with the experience I had this year (2025) using H&R Block Tax Pro Service. As a returning customer, I expected the same level of service I had received in previous years, but unfortunately, this year has been quite different — and not in a good way.
The frustration began when the tax professional assigned to my return was unexpectedly changed in the middle of the process - I had 4 changes, yet not have one to answer simple instructions questions. While I understand staffing shifts happen, the transition lacked clear communication and disrupted the continuity I was expecting. This was further complicated by the lack of timely responses. Even simple confirmations — like whether my submitted files were received and sufficient — were not provided. That basic level of communication is essential, and it was missing.
After submitting my return, I still had a few straightforward questions about a particular tax item, payment and next steps. These are questions I believe any tax pro (regard the level of expertise) could have answered in minutes. Unfortunately, my assigned tax pro became unresponsive after the payment was processed, which gave me the impression that once the fee was collected, the support ended. That experience left me feeling unheard, unsupported, and questioning the value of the investment I made in choosing a professional service.
I was genuinely hoping that working with a tax expert would give me clarity and peace of mind — instead, I was left with lingering doubts and unanswered questions. This experience has made me seriously consider switching to TurboTax next year.
I wanted to share this feedback not just out of frustration, but in the hope that it helps improve your service for future customers — and maybe to restore the trust of long-standing clients like myself.
I am now really questioning H&R Block Service to help customers achieve the deadline expected by the IRS and State.

Lorraine was absolutely horrible to work with. These guys charge you $290 to do the exact same thing turbo tax does for free. I am disgusted with their lack of respect and horrible customer service to someone who was looking for guidance on their first time filing taxes. This company takes advantage of you and will scream at you to pressure you into filing with them.

What a joke. I've been corresponding with Mileen Ramos and it's like everything I say goes in one ear and out the other. I swear my teenage daughter is more competent than this person. These guys screwed up my taxes last year, Joke is on me for trying again I guess.

Worst business I've ever experienced. Save yourself the nightmare. After paying for an extension, they sent me to a second location and neglected to send all my tax information over. Had to pay for an amendment and it wasted about 9 months that I could have been in school. I learned to take the day off from work because they'll call me back in the office after being in the office 3 times that day. Had to wait another 2 weeks to sign my amendment because their computer program froze after paying the fee. Then they wanted to charge me another $900 for their mess up, but they couldn't explain why I owed that. After 3 tax clowns and a large amount of my net income paid, I have many gray hairs. They hire the most incompetent monkeys. They can't even return a phone call. STAY AWAY!!! Worst joke for a business that I've ever experienced. They'll cost you more than time and money after you factor in months of stress, fuel, and missed hours of work. And in the end, the numbers are still wrong.

It was a train wreck. I paid $350 when I was quoted $150/yr with up to 3 w2s. I gave them only 3 w2s. They messed up my head of household credits and charged me $350 for 1 year regular W2 then told me everything that I had already told THEM regarding my taxes and basically said, "good luck". I paid the $350 even though they literally just did what I had already done and sent in previously. I went in because I was having trouble with the IRS, I got no help and literally not one single answer as to how to get a hold of the IRS. either way, I was quoted $150 and the representative I went to charged me $350. I'm bout to be homeless and would like my $ back, but that's what it is when you're honest

This place should be shutdown. We have been using HR Block for our payroll needs at our business for a couple years now. They have made countless mistakes and we decided to migrate to a software in the new year. We paid for them to finish out the years payroll and then send all of our data to our new payroll software as we migrate. On our last payday we were informed the person doing our payroll quit and now they somehow can’t figure out how to do our payroll and refuse to do so. This is the worst business I have ever encountered in my life. Would highly recommend to steer clear of these under qualified crooks. Worst place hands down.
