This is the weirdest place with the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I have an old motorhome that needed service on both the chassis and a minor plumbing job on the interior. I spoke with Sky at Mobile Mechanic/Car Smart Services, who seemed friendly and understanding. He stated what they would do--which all sounded great--and that they'd have it back to me in a couple of days. Also, since I'm looking to sell the rig, he said that after they'd serviced it, they'd write up a document indicating that everything was safe and in working order. After week, I called them. I talked to Sky again, who apologized that they kept putting other, more urgent jobs ahead of mine, but that they would get to it in another week. More time went by, with me checking in now and then. Two different times, they told me my vehicle was ready, and we made an appointment for me to pick it up. Each time, they said it wasn't quite ready, and could I come back tomorrow? No one at the shop speaks English, and they seem to have a different person every time that wanted to communicate through WhatsApp or text messaging. Finally, after a month, I texted and said I was just going to pick up the rig, in whatever condition it was in. When I arrived, I found it boxed in behind a truck and a trailer, so it was irretrievable. A lady walked up to me and motioned that I should wait, while she was chatting in Spanish to someone. I waited, and waited. Finally, she handed her phone to me to speak with another lady who spoke some English. She asked if I could return a couple of days later. Keep in mind that every time, I had to take off of work and impose upon a friend to drive out there. Finally, I went to pick up and pay for the rig. They stated the amount, and I asked for a copy of the itemized invoice, so I could see what the charges were for. That's normal, right???!!! I inspected the vehicle myself, and it seemed like one of the main things hadn't been done, so I wanted to know about that, in particular. They said the secretary was out of the office, but they would send me an invoice the following Monday. I'll let you guess--did they send it? Hah! It's been a few weeks since I picked up the rig, and I still have no invoice. Now, no one there is responding to my calls or texts. I think they've blocked me. You would think that place was in Mexico, not Bozeman, MT! STAY AWAY!!!
If this is Mobile Mechanic, send me a detailed, itemized invoice, or at least call me to give me an explanation of what was done, and I may consider editing my review.

Needed a last minute snow tire swap before an upcoming road trip and they were able to get me in the next day. Shop is on the edge of town, but would recommend especially if trying to avoid the Bozeman car work scheduling nightmare. Nice people.

I had An older truck and brought it in to get my door handle fixed. As they made the fix some of the older Parts broke in the door. They took it upon their own time to fix the job completely and get it all working right

They were extremely helpful, they got me in same day for something serious with my transmission— kept me updated on the progress of the job and were very friendly and honest. Thank you so much!

These guys are amazing! I had a transmission fluid leak in my 22ft RV and this was the only auto shop in Bozeman that were willing to work on it. The shop owner Sky was nice enough to let me stay at the shop in my RV with full hookups while I waited for my transmission to be rebuilt. The mechanics Chris and his daughter Dulce are very nice people and hard workers. Their family usually visited everyday with lunch and they always invited me over to eat with them. Chris also let me borrow his car whenever I needed to go into town, which was very nice of him. I was here for 3 weeks and I’m going to miss it here. But I’m also excited to finally be back on the road.

are family take a.motorcycle trip together every year. I have a 2017 suburban pulling four bikes. traveling to big fork Montana. We pull off in Bozman mt and my chev started missing. got a room for the night. started looking for a mechanic service and came across Mobile Mechanic mt. on Saturday night about 430 pm call to tell him my troubles. he said he could look at it right away if I could bring it out right away. so we did we checked it out found it to be valves. me being a mechanic my self I agreed. I told him we where going riding for a week we would be back on Friday afternoon.Sky said he could have time to get it done by that time line. He is a 24 hr repair service and is very busy. I left to think about it call back on Sunday to let him have it. mean while looking for a loaner vehicle sky called me to let us know of a site that rents locally owned vehicles. which help us out and saved us about 2500. dollars for a week rent. Sunday we got the rental and continued on are ride! witch was awesome. Sky kept me up to data ever morning before we went on are ride because we had limited phone service. Friday we headed out to get the Suburban it was a 5 hour drive. got thereat about 11. Sky had been out on the Interstate working on a semi that was Hauling cattle to get him to his destination. and just had a few things let to do. then he offered his private car for us to use. I stayed at the shop my son and his family went to return are rented vehicle and out to lunch. sky had us fix up and out of there in a couple of hours. we loaded up with the trailor and 5 motorcycles on it and headed to Brooking SD about 13 hours it ran better then it ever had. without a problem. The parts and labor where very reliable me knowing what thinks cost in these situations. Thanks Sky and your team of mechanics! You saved are family motorcycling trip!

This was by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
I’ve taken my car here in the past and had a fine experience, but this time was completely different. I called ahead, and they told me to drop my car off whenever—they said it would be ready in about 48 hours. A full week went by without any update. I called and texted multiple times and got no response.
After three weeks of silence, I finally received a text saying they were backed up and had “turned their phones off.” They promised to call me the next morning. That call never came. More follow-ups from me went unanswered until they eventually texted me what they thought might be wrong with the car and claimed they had no phone service to talk—but still didn’t follow up.
At that point, I told them I’d be picking up my car to take it elsewhere. They said the keys were in it and I could come anytime. I took a Lyft across town, only to find the shop completely empty and my car blocked in by another (which was dead). When I called, they said they had just stepped out for lunch.
I waited over an hour before someone finally showed up to move the other car so I could leave.
I would strongly caution anyone considering taking their car here.

Amazing service! I had a coolant leak on a 2015 ford escape called in and within 36 hours my car was seen and repaired for a reasonable price. Very grateful.

My 4Runner started making awful noises and became unsafe to drive while running an errand (with my toddler), and being new to Bozeman, I had no idea where to take it. I was about half a mile from Mobile Mechanic and decided to take a chance. I got really lucky! Sky’s team took care of me immediately, and we had a car with new back brakes and front bearings the next day. They charged a (more than) fair price, and I left feeling taken care of. I will be calling for any other car service I need.

So grateful for these folks! While driving across the state, I noticed a strange noise when I had to make tight turns. It was disconcerting given that I had another 4 hours to go. I called these folks when I rolled into Bozeman, and they were able to get me in immediately. They quickly diagnosed the issue as wheel bearings needing to be replaced. Though these need to be replaced soon, they assured me it would be safe enough to get me home. I made it safely!

would encourage Andy to call me if he would like this review taken down, as he does have record of my dealings with him, happy to give transaction history as well. My dealings with him are 27 months ago, in response to his 24 month no record history (seems convenient). To say the owner doesn’t deal with the day to day operations is ridiculous, he’s literally the guy who answered the phone and who I dropped my truck off with.
The following review is from me, an actual customer. Took in my Ford F-150 for a misfiring code, Andy was able to get me in and diagnose me vehicle very quickly which I was very appreciative of. He even offered me a rental vehicle if I did the full vehicle repair through him. My truck needed new heads so it was going to take a while. I gladly accepted and dropped off my truck for the repair soon afterwards
Here’s where it gets bad. Dropped off my vehicle where upon drop off promised to find me a vehicle in his fleet to rent, next day said they were completely booked out all summer all of a sudden and referred me to rent from somewhere else which was going to be expensive. Such a bummer but whatever, I moved on. Checked in on the repair a few times and they waited quite a while to even start on my truck, a week and a half or so. Then asked again and they said they took it somewhere else for some work, he had mentioned remanufacturing the heads so I wasn’t worried. Then needed something off my set of keys so went in person to retrieve them. I was then informed my truck was completely pawned off to a different shop for the repair… without warning. I then contact the new mechanics and even they were confused, they thought Andy was paying them for the work when Andy now wanted nothing to do with the truck. I then had to start over with the new mechanics increasing the repair time even more as they were much busier than Andy. Eventually once repair was done with new mechanics I found out Andy and his partner Drew broke off every plastic ignition boot plug in which I had replaced 5 out of 8 before Andy saw it, and head ZIPTIED the plugs back on. Tried contacting Andy and was ghosted day after day, his WIFE eventually talked to me and his partner Drew admitted to breaking them and ziptieing them. Drew the Wife and I agreed that they would pay for 8 new plugs and same day shipping so I could fix them myself as I had done before. When I show up for payment Drew tried arguing his way out of paying me for every single plug that he broke and the same day shipping, I told him his was insane for even asking me and he asked me not to name him in a review, well too bad.
Don’t deal with Andy, he’s non-communicative and shady, he takes advantage of those who know less about cars. He offered me $500 of free labor and refunded me the $120 diagnostic fee as a result of the whole debacle. I’m not going to use that $500. Sounds like he doesn’t offer those kinds of resolutions when you make a 1-star review so let’s see if he takes away mine.

This place earns a star for getting my vehicle running, when the alternator failed on a busy holiday weekend. However, they promised to put in a new alternator, not a reman (remanufactured) one. I had this conversation with Andy a couple of times to ensure it would be a new one, and he said that they don't use remans because they are not reliable. But then they installed a reman into my vehicle anyway withouth telling me. When I arrived to pickup the vehicle, Christian, told me that it was a new alternator from Napa. I asked to see the invoice from Napa, and he couldn't find it. I requested that he get a copy of the invoice and send it to me. He did that a few days later, and sure enough it was a reman, not a new one--a cheap, poorly rated one from O'Reilly. Plus, they charged me far more for the part than it actually cost them.
Additionally, while they were doing the work, Andy called to say that it would take 4 hours of labor to do the install, because, he said, they would have to remove the water pump. I do most of my own work on my vehicle, but did not have the tools or time for this job, as I was working that weekend. I knew that this was not true and called him out on that. He then admitted that it was only the steering pully that needed to be removed--a pretty simple, quick, job if you have the right tools. At least they only charged me 2 hours of labor.
They had the car ready to go by late morning, but didn't bother to call me until just before closing. The car started squeeling from either the belt not being tensioned correctly, or the reman alternator, but they were closed on Sunday and I was out of town for the next 10 days. They did say they would fix the situation and install a new Toyota alternator for me--which I had to order--when I got back into town. Now they refuse to return my calls or text messages.
If you desperately need service in a pinch on a weekend, than I guess this may is your only option, but beware they will likely try to scam you, as well. Do your homework while you are waiting for you vehicle.
I have attached the invoices, from Car Smart, which is this company, and the invoice for the alternator from O'Reilly--by the way, they get the core charge of $40 back, when they return the original alternator (the core) to O'Reilly, so they charged me $289 for a $161 alternator. They will likely try to claim that they don't have a customer with my name, which they do on all other bad reviews. But the invoices don't lie.
