If you haven't already gone here to eat, you need to! I drive from Kalispell on a regular basis just to have Wing Wednesday night with friends. Wednesday night is also Bingo night, so fun is had by all who . Stop in and say hello to Rick and Deb, great owners, and just good people!!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy 1 level access!

It seems to me that the farther you get away from the big city the better your dining experience gets. Case in point, The Hungry Bear. The moment I walked in, I didn’t want to leave. The HB is a genuine gem. Friendly staff, amazing food all wrapped up in a warm and welcoming atmosphere that screams home sweet home. I live 80 miles from The HB but it is now where I will come to enjoy welcoming company, fantastic drinks and the best food, ever! Do yourself a favor and stop in for the Cheers of Montana.

Stopped in here for a late lunch expecting typical bar and grill food. I was very wrong. Had the Cowboy with sidewinder fries. It's a sliced prime rib and cheese sandwich with your choice of bread, au jus, and horseradish sauce that puts wasabi to shame! Washed it down with a super tasty Huckleberry Moscow Mule. Our waiter was awesome too. Super friendly and gave us great pointers for things to go see while in the area.

The online menu is not what they serve anymore so we were really disappointed to drive 45 minutes only to find out the online menu isn’t up to date. So we had to get burgers and sandwiches instead. They did offers chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes or fries but about 15 minutes after we ordered the waitress can put and said the mashed potatoes weren’t ready. How is that you special for the day and you don’t have it ready?

First of all, this place is a beautiful log cabin with wonderful character. It used to be a steakhouse but is now a bar and grill. The food now is mostly just ok (except the Cobb Salad which is outstanding). The beef lacks flavor which is unusual for Montana where beef is a specialty. The real problem here is the slow service. We’ve waited an hour for food more than once, even when they aren’t particularly busy. Last night we arrived to a half full dining room and still had to wait 1/2 hour for a table because the kitchen was backed up. It is frustrating that on a Saturday night the kitchen is unable to handle a full restaurant at the 7pm dinner hour. We went for music and food but next time will eat at home and just go for the music and drinks.
