We thoroughly enjoyed our stop here. There is no charge to go through the museum, but you can make a donation if you like. This was full of the history of this area. There is also a backyard tour where you can see mining equipment and other items. This location also has information and brochures for the surrounding areas and states. There are restrooms and places to sit and relax. There is even a picnic table of you want to sit and enjoy lunch or a snack. The staff was very helpful and very nice.

This place is great! We always come back here every few years for some good times. You got YP, camping, fishing, fossil hunting (if you know where to look), old mine exploring, waterfalls. Just watch out for the bears! Always a must stop before YP.

Good Museum, also nice place to get information about Yellowstone. The people that work there were very helpful and gave us information about the park.

A quaint little place that showcases the life in not-so distant past. The (elderly) gentleman there was very eager in answering questions from the tourists, including mine. He was equally helpful in suggesting where we could spend some time before we could've checked in to our hotel. This is the only place where I could use Internet in the whole town. No wonder there were folks in the patio with laptops almost all throughout the day.I donated $5 for the place is very convenient and helpful to tourists. Admission and a few available maps are free.

The museum is also the towns visitor center and it has free Wi-Fi. Which is extremely important to know because there’s no cell service for an hours drive in any direction.

If you are on your way into or out of Yellowstone and need to use the indoor plumbing... This is the place! It was so nice not to use an outhouse.

Located just a couple of miles from the North East entrance to Yellowstone Park. Closest entrance to Lamar Valley where you find it full of Bison. Staff was very knowledgeable concerning the area including Yellowstone Park. Recommend stopping in and picking up a state map of Wyoming and Montana.
