Silver Gate Lodging is a great place to stay, very close to the Yellowstone Park East Entrance. It is a perfect base for exploring Yellowstone and the Lamar Valley, ideal for seeing wildlife at dawn and dusk. The location is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful with great views and great star watching. The accommodations include motel rooms and cabins described as cozy, comfy, and functional, though some note they are a bit outdated. Experiences with cleanliness vary; one room was very clean, while another was not the cleanest, with a non-working bathroom fan and a fridge with prior occupants' food. The bed was noted as very comfortable. The on-site General Store is a great stop and a small local business to support. The village vibe is enjoyed by guests, and the staff and owners are described as very personable, friendly, helpful, and nice. Restaurant options in walking distance are limited but have amazing food. Having a kitchen helps save money on dining. Many guests loved their stay, would stay again, and keep coming back.
Loved this place! It is 1 mile drive from the Yellowstone Park (East) Entrance, great for visiting Lamar Valley. We stayed in Motel Room 15, which was very clean and cost. Restaurant options in walking distance are limited but absolutely amazing food (Log Cabin and Wulff Tavern)! Would totally stay here again!
