This store has a lot of wonderful souvenirs for Yellowstone and the local area. There is jewelry, soaps, t shirts, a kids section, and a lot more. They have a small animal museum that takes a few minutes to look at. You have to spend $10 to see it. We had purchased some Chokecherry jelly, so we went into the museum. The lady at the register was very nice. If you are passing through, you need to stop here.

I’ve been coming here for probably thirty years so it holds a special place in my heart. With the new management, the quality of the products has definitely greatly improved, they unfortunately lost the “Cooke City” vibe. Well, not even just vibe - it’s hard to even find anything that says Cooke City on it anymore. It’s all Yellowstone now. Which is fine I guess but I don’t think that’s what people come here for. Not me, anyway. Maybe just a suggestion, stock more specifically Cooke City merchandise. Otherwise, it’s a great place.

Fun store. The elaborate animal display is worth it if you happen to buy something at the store. I would be disappointed if I'd just paid $10 to see it. It's a very nice store with a wide selection of clothing and knick-knacks. Cooke City is a great little mountain town. There are a few good places to stay in town and several restaurants. Highly recommend the area as a base camp for exploring the NE corner of the park and Lamar Valley.

First I’m going to say a transgender person is not a issue with us at all. The offense signs that the transgender lady put up that was working there were outrageous and offensive to anyone. She was rude and it’s a embarrassment to the store and our amazing state of Montana. Will never go back. We are a 5 th generation Montana family and have come to Cooke City for to many years to count all together. Super sad to have experienced that encounter!! This is not what Montana represents.

Big store, with a cool area showing animals common to the area. Lots and lots of shirts and a wide range of other cool souvenirs. Conveniently located as you come into town on the main road. Cool exterior, with a big grizzly bear above the entrance.

Very friendly staff! Gave us tips on wildlife in Yellowstone and even let us step outside to try 3 different pairs of binoculars before buying.

My family and I take a trip to MT every summer and always make a stop at the Trading Post in Cooke City. This year was much different. Today our group of 10 walked into the establishment and were allowed to walk around, enjoy ourselves and find things we wanted to purchase for a good 15 minutes without masks before a RUDE woman came storming out from the back yelling, "EVERYONE without a mask is to leave the store IMMEDIATELY." We then try to tell her we will put our masks on if the store was that strict on the wear of them, and she kept pushing our entire group out. I then explained that if she wanted us to make our purchases she should really be more polite about policies. She then raises her voice at me in front of the whole store and says, "I don't want your business, get out now." I said trust me we are. Then to top it all off as we were having the door slammed in our face she yells out, "you all smell!"Not sure if this woman is the owner, management, or just another worker, but for her to kick an entire group out that had armfuls of items to purchase? and were willing to put our masks on to do so was extremely, EXTREMELY immature and unprofessional. We always spend a lot of money here and now never will again. Very disappointing.

We were a little disappointed to see that the restaurant area was almost shut down. We did get some burritos and the lady behind the counter microwaved them for us so we ate them on the go. Lots of souvenir items in this place. Prices seemed a little on the high side.
