What a wonderful experience! Dorothy and Lyn (and Hank the dog) were fun hosts! The home is lovely and well-appointed for the ranch theme. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts, even when we had an early morning fishing trip! The views are fabulous.

Make your reservation now…the Bitterroot River Ranch is absolutely stunning! This was our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast, and it surpassed all our expectations. From the moment we arrived we were wrapped in comfort and a relaxing atmosphere.
The HOSTS…Dorothy and Lynn were so kind and caring. We loved “porch sitting” and getting to know one another, along with the other guests.
The BREAKFAST… I have no words. I don’t know how Dorothy does it, but she puts together a magical feast—not only for the taste, but for the presentation. And the baked goods in the afternoon were always a nice surprise too.
The BED…WOW! The bed was so comfortable, and the linens were incredibly soft. We stayed in the Safari Room and there were so many details that showed great thoughtfulness.
Added BONUS (since we are big animal lovers) … their fur baby Hank who gave us endless entertainment and the friendly horse and mules we greeted upon entering and leaving the ranch daily.
Thank you, Dorothy and Lynn for your kindness. We look forward to visiting again.

The Bitterroot River Ranch is the epitome of a perfect Montana getaway. They should put this place on a postcard. The cabin self is amazing—every detail has been meticulously thought out.
The accommodations are definitely luxurious. The rooms are beautifully crafted with themed rooms, top-tier beds, linens, and pillows. The bathrooms are spa-like, with a huge soaking tub and custom-tiled showers.
What truly sets this place apart is how seamlessly everything comes together—it’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a work of art. The hosts are warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. Our daily excursions meant our schedule varied, but Mrs. Dorothy went above and beyond to coordinate with us each evening to ensure breakfast was ready exactly when we needed it.
And the breakfast—wow. I typically skip breakfast, but not here. Every morning was amazing, far beyond your average hotel continental breakfast. Think five-star, chef-quality meals that you’ll look forward to waking up for.
I honestly can’t imagine how this experience could be improved. Bitterroot River Ranch is an amazing place with amazing people, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We had a company retreat with guests staying at Bitterroot River Ranch. AMAZING!!! Wonderful hosts, beautiful property and a breakfast to die for. Hank the boxer now has a place in many hearts.

Beautiful views in a tranquil, quiet setting. Wonderful location to use as a base for a multitude of hiking trails. Hosts Dorothy and Lynn are generous and kind and the beds are exceptionally comfortable with highest quality linens. Plenty of outdoor seating for viewing the mountains and surrounding hills.

Dorothy & Lynn created and amazing experience for us. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The house feels very new and updated and clean. The setting and the views are INCREDIBLE. Dorothy's breakfast served each morning is delicious. Can't recommend it enough and will be back...

We're so glad we stumbled upon Bitterroot River Ranch while planning our road trip out west. We are a couple in our 60's and drove out from Georgia. We stayed two nights while traveling from Glacier NP to Yellowstone NP. Dorothy and Lynn (owners) are the best. They are very friendly and make you feel like family. Breakfasts are great and the nightly dessert was a nice surprise. This is the best B&B we've been blessed to stay at. Beds are comfortable, breakfast is superb and it's quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are planning on returning soon.

Our stay at Bitterroot Ranch was amazing. After reading previous reviews, I decided to book two nights at their B n B and was happy I did. We really enjoyed relaxing on the patio and walking around taking in the majestic views of the mountains all around them. Breakfast was incredible, Dorothy inquired about what we liked to eat and made sure the time fit our schedule. They gave us great recommendations on a local hike - Baker Lake which was incredible. We only felt like strangers for the first couple minutes, by the end of our stay, we felt like we made new friends. Thank you so much for opening up your home, we enjoyed getting to know you very much!

From the moment I booked our stay at Lynn and Dorothy’s home I knew it was going to be a special experience and couldn’t wait to get to the property to live this in real time. When we turned off of the road and made our way up the windy driveway I knew what we were about to see at the top would be beautiful, except when we turned the corner and saw the view and the home setting it wasn’t just beautiful, it was actually breathe taking. Almost didn’t even seem real. A true Montana movie. Dorothy greeted us upon arrival with home made cinnamon buns and made us to feel right at home. Lynn was soon right behind her once done with his ranch work. Such a pleasure to spend time with both of them. The home is so charming and the property is just beyond. The wrap around porch with the rocking chairs are the perfect accent to take in the silence and view on the ranch. Our room was great and the bed was very comfortable. My favorite was breakfast!! The spread that Dorothy and her two grand daughters, who were in town helping, put out was unreal. Home made everything and it was delicious! We sat around the table talking and laughing before we set out on our day. Even when we departed very early in the morning Dorothy had to go bags with fresh made muffins and fruit cups with a goodbye note. It is the only place I would stay in Darby, Montana and if you are looking for a unique touch that will leave you with a very full heart then this is the place for you!
