Safeway is a great, family-friendly grocery store located at 201 N Main St in Deer Lodge, MT. It is a clean and pleasant place for a peaceful shopping experience with a good selection of everyday needs. The staff is friendly, helpful, and genuinely cares about customers, with many on a first-name basis with employees. Checkout times are never too long. The store features several departments. The pharmacy provides immunizations and fills prescriptions in a timely manner. The bakery offers birthday cakes, custom cakes, and cupcakes. The deli has a variety of party trays and platters, along with the best fried chicken in town, and offers an Order Ahead service. The butcher block provides an assortment of meat, seafood, and sushi trays. The produce department is full of guaranteed fresh fruits and vegetables. There is also a floral department. Customer service is consistently described as excellent, with staff members creating meaningful connections and making lasting impressions through kind greetings and helpful conversations.

Cashiers weren't very friendly. Prices were ok.

They had fresh chicken pot pies for individuals for $5. Unfortunately the bathrooms were upstairs- not ideal.
