Very nice property! EXCELLENT welcome with an old style car to pic us up at the train station! It's so close, you can walk, but it was very cool to be welcomed with the red station wagon old school car! We took a train from Baltimore Maryland to this East Glacier Station, stayed here two nights, then went off around Glacier. The only bad thing is transportation. I could not find any rental cars here and had trouble finding transport up to Many Glaciers. I think I could have asked this hotel for a ride to St Mary and then asked Many Glacier for a ride from St Mary to their hotel. The coffee in the morning was great and the restaurant was very good! I do like this hotel. We had a balcony, but it overlooked the staff dining room, lol. Still nice to have the balcony!

It was definitely worth the price to stay at least one night at this historic lodge. It is an amazing structure in a beautiful setting. One thing to be aware of is that you need to enter the park before 6 am or purchase a car pass in order to enter the park. I found the car passes to be impossible to obtain. Luckily, we booked a Red Bus tour and were able to enter with that.

The hotel was lovely, but the experience was awful. Both nights there was loud banging that we believe was construction. Our concerns were dismissed and the staff was rude to us on multiple occasions.

Beautiful historic lodge in a magnificent setting. The lobby and dining area is lovely, with massive fireplaces and plenty of nooks and crannies to relax and enjoy the view. However, the management and customer service needs improvement. We arrived early evening on the train, only to discover that they had overbooked, and the room we reserved back in January had been given away. No real explanation as to why that happened, and the best they could do for that evening was a room on the third floor with three double beds. We would have to move in the morning, once our reserved room became available. The VERY young desk staff assured us that housekeeping would make cleaning our room a priority, and gave us coupons for the breakfast buffet, which was a nice gesture. After we returned from a morning tour at noon the next day, the room was still not ready. We were assured that it would be done right away. It was 3:30 pm before we got into the room, with a lot of apologies and excuses, but no real explanation of the problem. Really unacceptable, and no management ever spoke to us. Honestly, we didn’t see any employee in the whole lodge that looked over 30! Anyway, the room was a disappointment….We expected old, but the walls were in desperate need of painting and the bathroom was tiny, with original fixtures. If you book, make sure you get a renovated room on the first floor……there are no elevators. Breakfast buffet was decent, but not worth $21/person….we were thankful we had the breakfast coupons. Food in the pub was fine; we did not have dinner in the main restaurant. Would most likely not stay again.

There were 9 of us traveling together (3 families). End of July 2023.1. Rooms at the resort. When we arrived, they gave me a room, and we went up to find that it was not cleaned. This was annoying, and they moved us to a different floor for a night. They intended to leave us separated from our family, but we asked to be moved and they did. This was annoying to not have our room ready near the family and have to pack and move our stuff again. The real issue is the family of 5 was supposed to have a double and a triple connected to each other (2 adults in one room and the 3 kids in the other). When we arrived, they didn’t have anything of the sort ready. They gave them random rooms that weren’t close to each other. The next day, they moved one room, but still never got the connected double and triple. This was a big hassle for their family. We’re asking for a fair rebate for the hassle of this, not having things ready that we needed, and not being clear about the rooms that would be available to this family.2. Shuttle service. This was AWFUL. We knew that we had an open day on our first full day at the resort. Earlier in the year, my family member called a few times to talk with the hotel staff about how to catch a shuttle and what to expect with the shuttle. When we arrived, we even asked the front desk clerk about the shuttle system. Everything on the website and every conversation with staff on phone calls said that it was “first come, first served.” The midnight clerk was completely clueless about how the shuttle service worked. Even though we were delayed and not in until midnight, we got up at 7 am to try to catch the 8:15 am shuttle so we could get to a trailhead to beat the heat. The 8:15 am shuttle was already full with an Amtrak tour and we had to wait until 10:15 am. Had we known this the night before, we would have been able to sleep in. We were stuck then with 2 hours with 3 tired children, and a few tired adults.Returning shuttle service worked fine.3. Pool. The google photos of the hotel show a pool. Many reviews about the resort talk about a pool. There is no pool.We reached out directly to the hotel management, who was uninterested in offering us any sort of recompense.

Staff was very accommodating and courteous. We were staying for five nights, but couldn’t book the same room for the entire stay. Once we arrived we spoke with a manager (John) and he was able fix it so we had the same room for our entire stay. Very grateful for this because it saved us from having to spend a day during our vacation relocating from one room to another. As others mentioned the lodge is stunning. The views and the location were perfect for our needs. Proximity to the park was great. Wi-Fi was great in my room. We had no problem streaming a movie to our iPad at night. The rooms are pricey but we were willing to pay to stay at this lodge. Floors in our room flexed a lot as we walked. Obviously there was something structural going on. Yes, the bathroom was very tiny, but not a big deal for us. Our room was clean and comfortable. It appears to me that the parent company (Pursuit) spends zero dollars on maintenance, repairs, or improvements. From our balcony we could see that the roof is in bad shape. Roof was patched with expanding foam to “seal” rusted sections in the sheeting. The lodge charges a premium to stay here, they should put some of that money back into the facility to improve the quality of the rooms. Oh, just as an FYI, there was a service elevator in our building, it was broken and appeared to have been broken for some time.Photo is the view from our balcony.

This lodge was beautiful!! The room was large and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very tiny, but served its purpose. There was a lot of room in the lobby to sit. We were left alone for the duration of our stay.

The location is of course ideal, but the lodge has to upgrade its bathrooms and install an elevator system of some kind. The tours were very good, especially the one with the young guy with long hair. The older man, 'Harrison Ford'-outfitted just wouldn't stop talking. Food was quite expensive and more-or-less average. Service was excellent in the large restaurant, young people, very attentive and friendly.

This review is for the restaurant. They open at 5pm for dinner. The service was very good and the food was delicious. While we waited in the lobby of the lodge for the doors of the restaurant to open, there was a nice gentleman playing his guitar and his daughter who had down syndrome was singing softly and beautifully. It was so sweet to watch. Back to the food.... We ordered the trout which was cooked really well in a buttery sauce. The bison bolognese was really good as well. No complaints. Sorry, no pictures of the food. Go check them out!

Majestic, historic hotel. Absolutely worth the price and an amazing opportunity to experience history while enjoying a quiet getaway in a wilderness haven. Food was also great. Great Northern Dining was a little pricey but the lounge food was economic while still having excellent quality and great variety.

A memorable stay - I didn't want to leave! My husband I stayed at the Glacier Park Lodge for 3 nights in mid-September. The lobby is stunnning and we enjoyed reading by the fire after a day out hiking. We are dinner and breakfast in the dining room - the staff was exceptional, good was very good. Yes, as other reviewers said, the rooms are outdated but we selected a historic lodge for a reason. Adding TVs and renovating the property would detract from the charm. Of note, we did have WIFI in our room. If you are looking for a modern, luxury stay, this is not it. If you are looking peaceful stay in a historical space, this is it.
