Gift Shops in East Glacier Park, MT

“We came into the little town of East Glacier Park, Montana seeking coffee and a pastry after a day spent hiking at Two Medicine. Next door to the coffee shop( good coffee, good buns) was the cutest little shop that we almost drove by. Then I got that sense of “if you miss this you’ll regret it” and made the hubby park the van. Have not regretted it.The little wooden store reminded me of little wooden shops in my homeland - creaky low doors and ceilings and all. It was dark and comforting in the store and every single wall was covered with wooden spoons. Long spoons, short ones, twisty ones, straight ones, some with deep bowls, some with slotted bowls. There was one ancient one hanging from the ceiling that was over a foot long with a deep intriguing color. They had spoons from movies- you need to go to see- spoons from History. They had every kind of spoon on every surface (don’t forget to look up.) And… they had a wand cupboard!!!!!We spent nearly an hour in this shop talking to the shopkeeper and hearing the history of the spoon collection and the shop. We bought lovely, lovely spoons for ourselves and our children. In your hand, they feel substantial and almost living- the wood has that lovely warm feeling and the handles fill your hand comfortably with that sensual feeling that touching real wood gives you.If you are ever in the area you need to give yourself a treat and stop here. If you don’t, you will never know what it feels like.”
