Thanks to the Bighorn crew for showing our Minnesota crew a great time! Brought plenty of fish in the boat, food was awesome, and we were well taken care of. I'm brand new to fly fishing and my guides (George and Colton L) were patient, helpful, and knew how to help me land some beautiful fish. A trip I'll never forget and we can't wait to come back!

I went fly fishing for 4 days with a group of friends and had a great time. Stayed at an Air B&B. We had guides on 3 drift boats the whole time. The shop and guides were great - friendly, caught about 20 fish per day per person, good food at the restaurant. I highly recommend them.

Had an absolute blast with the whole crew up there. They hung out, provided great food and of course our guides were amazing. Couldn’t believe how well they navigated record flows and got us into BIG fish! They handled our large group wonderfully.

First time fly fishing and Pete did a great job teaching me. His knowledge of the river and what the fish were eating was phenomenal! Definitely will go back in the future.

I had an awesome time fishing with my guide Jake Olson. He made sure we hit "Trout Alley" several times rowing upstream to cast again and again. Caught around a dozen every day, one 22 inch German Trout, a couple of Browns 17 & 18 along with a 16 inch Rainbow and smaller bows. I stayed in the lodge because I could not find a friend that could come in this time frame. I was going to only give a 4 star and then after speaking with Mike, he agreed to upgrade the mattress and place a folding chair to sit so you can watch TV. I mentioned when I return next year, I trust he made the upgrades otherwise I will update my review. The room is very NO FRILLS, just enough for a shower and sleep (what you really need it for).Food in my opinion was great and large for me. See the Photos. Meals are 7:30 breakfast and 7 dinner. Coffee is available starting around 6:15. There is a snack lunch when using their guide.

This was my first time fly fishing. With that being said I believe everything was fantastic. Rudi was firm but fair and did a phenomenal job of getting me dialed in. First day was long, awkward and rough adjusting to the fly rod and reel. Hooked my head multiple times and the back of my ear so good Rudi used pliers to remove it. After, I was ducking, dodging and flailing around like a wacky inflatable arm guy. Got my hands on a rod and reel to practice for day 2. During this time Kerry another guide spotted me and saw I needed guidance. Thanks Kerry. The second day out I didn’t hook myself once and caught nothing under 18 inches. By the 4th and final day with Mr. George it was a relaxing and stress free day of fishing. George showed me the finer points of wading and actually nailed a couple nice fish. George also assisted me with setting a used but new fly rod up for streamer fishing. Drove to the Ok-A- Beh Marine and got into some big carp right at the boat launch. The room was extremely basic but adequate didn’t spend much time in there. The food was great as well. The fly shop was super interesting and had everything I wanted and needed. Met some helpful and interesting folks also staying there .

Our 1 day/2 nights trip was fabulous. Everyone (Mike, Ronnie, George, Nathan, Gabe and dining room staff) gave us a great experience on the river. Even the cold windy day and naughty bears added to the best day! Thank you all for the memories at Ft Smith.

I’ve taken many guided fishing trips; unfortunately, this trip is at the bottom of my list. Our guide was not great on the oars, and we were always the last boat to leave the shop. Not a great start to catch fish when you follow a huge line of boats down the river. He was also a bit critical regarding how we were fishing and just didn’t seem to focus as the boat would weave in and out as we floated down the river. If the boat can’t keep a straight line, it is difficult to have a good drift. As far as the lodge goes, it’s nothing fancy but has good accommodations for showering and sleeping. The food for the most part was good, but the customer service was not that great. The kitchen staff seemed burnt out. I tipped well for only having a plate of food set down. (20 dollars after each dinner) It would have been nice to receive a little gratitude.I get that some trips are better than others and you’re not always guaranteed to catch a lot of fish. But you also want to be able to have fun and enjoy your time there. This was not the case for me.

A great experience on the Big Horn staying here . Our guide, George, was terrific. A knowledgeable, affable, and patient guy. My wife’s first trout ever was a 25 inch Brown. What a memory! Thanks to all the great staff. We will be back and I strongly recommend this lodge !!

Bighorn Angler has replaced the Bighorn Trout shop as my go-to fly shop when I fish the Bighorn. Angler is Gen X punk rock; Trout Shop is Boomer classic rock. Both good, but one speaks to me better than the other

Bighorn Angler Fly Shop is the place to stop before fishing the Little Big Horn. The staff is knowledgeable and, friendly - willing to answer your questions. They have a great selection of flies and other fishing equipment. If you are looking for a hat or sunglasses, they have an extensive selection of that too. Stop in!

The meals were absolutely delicious and probably what I miss the most. The fishing was incredible. Our guide, George, was so patient, knowledgeable and friendly. He worked hard for us and put us on lots of brown and rainbow trout. We had a beautiful fishing experience.I am already looking at my calendar for dates to return in the spring! And hope George is available!

Came out to Montana for a family fly fishing guided tour and this place was top notch! They are located about an hour and a half from Billings in a small town of less than a hundred. There are two different shops in the large parking lot, the Bighorn Angler is the building with the large "Fly Shop" sign. Lodging is attached to the shop and the rooms were in good condition and clean. We booked an "all inclusive" type trip so they served us breakfast, lunch (while fishing) and dinner. Now onto the fishing, the guides that were provided were very knowledgeable, provided excellent guidance (most of us are novice anglers) and were very personable. The guides are two people with one guide on each boat (my guide was Ryan who I would highly recommend/book again with). Keep in mind this is a catch and release place so don't come expecting to take any trout home. All said and done we had an amazing time with the Bighorn Angler and would definitely recommend/book with again!
