“We had a vehicle blow up on the interstate while passing through. We contacted and worked with a few different mechanic shops in Glendive, and I wanted to share our experience with other google users.

Robins service is a uniquely Glendive family/community based business. They offer several different services on site. They answer the telephone and are friendly and helpful. They have a towing service which I wholeheartedly recommend if you are stranded on the road. If you have insurance please beware that you often have two options - have the insurance company contract a service which they pay directly , or contract one yourself and turn in the receipt for reimbursement. Not all towing services work directly with insurance for a variety of (good, smart) reasons. So I suggest you call Robins to tow your vehicle and send the receipt in. The other option will likely be from a town over an hour away.

Robins service is a real shop. They charge standard hourly rates and can do a wide variety of work. Some shops in Glendive will only use new parts for replacement, which will get very costly. Robins can source used parts and get you back on the road with a budget in mind.

Robins also serves as the local Jefferson Lines stop. It is nothing fancy, but serves an important role in the town. We were stranded when our car broke down and grateful for the ability to take the bus. Their shop workers are kind and friendly and able to look up tickets, numbers of passengers and answer important basic questions about the bus. This is a loading/unloading stop only for Jefferson and there are no amenities per se, it is not a “break” or “smoke” stop.

Finally I will say that although they have a bit of a ragged look to the property, it is charming in its own right. They are reusing cars for entertainment in the demolition derby, for instance, and reusing parts as available in their projects. While on our short stay in Glendive we did run into several locals who all shared a good impression and positive reviews of Robins.”
